Soft Cell Lyrics
This electro-pop duo features vocalist Marc Almond (born
Peter Marc Almond, 9 July 1956, Southport, Lancashire,
England) and synth player Dave Ball (born 3 May 1959,
Blackpool, Lancashire, England) and was formed in Leeds, in
1981.
Originally, Almond and Ball teamed to compose music for
theatrical productions, and as Soft Cell, their live
performances continued to draw heavily on the pair's
background in drama and the visual arts. A self-financed

Review about Soft Cell songs
tainted love | Reviewer: Light
------ About the song Tainted Love performed by Soft Cellthis is a great song, and yes marilyn manson did do a cover of it, but the original song from soft cell did it better. and to be honest, so far ive never heard a cover song that was better than the original
brilliant | Reviewer: leanne
------ About the song Say Hello, Wave Goodbye performed by Soft CellThis song is clearly about a guy who is dating an ex prostitute... "You were a sleep around and a lost and found" "Your used to wearing less" "Under the deep red light" "Ill find someone who's not going cheap in the sales"... He's clearly ashamed that he was with her hence why she was a secret and he wants one last time with her... To say hello (or have one last fling) then say goodbye... without all the drama that went before
Great song | Reviewer: Andrew L.
------ About the song Tainted Love performed by Soft Cell"Tainted Love" is probably one of the most played one hit wonders I've ever heard. It's a teriffic song and a shame Softcell couldn't match it on US soil. I've heard of their popularity across the pond, but not the first one hit wonder to have better luck in England. Awesome song!
Beautiful song, straight from the heart | Reviewer: Holly
------ About the song Say Hello, Wave Goodbye performed by Soft CellA beautiful song about a relationship that has run its course. The singer is looking for more to life than the life he has lived and him and the girl in mention cant make that happen together. The singer, sadly, has to say goodbye for the good of them both. A powerful song about a relationship that brings out the worst.

------ About the song Tainted Love performed by Soft CellFor anyone that cares or doesn't know ...
The original was by Gloria Jones in the 1960's. In the '80's, it was covered by Softcell. And then by Marilyn Manson (with a million other lesser known covers I won't mention).
The original was a lot more soulful, but I still love Softcell's.

------ About the song Say Hello, Wave Goodbye performed by Soft Cellsome girls are whores who cheat on their mates....i happen to regretfully be one of those awful people...so if you think its misogynistic---well then you must be a little naive to think that by him saying all he wants is a nice little housewife is putting down women. You see he could choose the beautiful wife-the one he adores-the one he loves-but continually hurts him and cheats on him and at least with that "nice little house wife" he will never have to worry about his heart being broken....that's the story

------ About the song Say Hello, Wave Goodbye performed by Soft Cellcome now, Anonymous, it's meant to be absurdly cruel and bitchy. life would be awfully dull if mean break-up songs had to adhere to standards of political correctness. I say this as a feminist.
One of their best | Reviewer: sofalofa
------ About the song It's a Mug's Game performed by Soft CellHilarious song from the boys. Funky Soft Cell vibe and great lyrics from Mr Almond. One of my favourite Soft Cell songs...
Misogynist crap | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Say Hello, Wave Goodbye performed by Soft CellIt seems likely that this song is meant metaphorically, but nonetheless the metaphor would still be misogynist. "You were a sleep around", "take off that unbecoming frown", "to keep you secret has been hell" ... all of these lines are strictly taken from the aforementioned dust bin of history and a view on women that went mouldy a very long time ago. Not to speak, of course, of the "nice little housewife"...
marilyn manson sucks | Reviewer: Anonymous
