With a total of 28 tracks on the 9 x platinum US selling, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness it is just so hard to decide where to start with the reveiws for certain songs as they almost all stand out as total gems!!! This song was a song that partically stood out for me as a killer record right from first spin back in late 1995, well this one and 'Muzzle' of course! Wonderful meaning to the lyrics and as always with the Smashing Pumpkins the stand back in ore of the playing and the passion given to the music..!!!

An early classic by a wonderful and special band! Released in 1991 and closing the 'Lull' EP beautifully. This song everytime I play it brings back some special memories and all great songs do that! Certainly one of my all time favourite records not just by Smashing Pumpkins but by any band! Very special..

Without question one of the all time greatest songs! It just never fails to put shivers up and down my whole being from the moment it starts to the final second! Stunning song by one of the all time best Rock bands! The Smashing Pumpkins will always remain to have a special place in my heart! :-)

right from the first 4 lines this song says something about America deluding 'Us'. Apple eyes and innocent is how most kids born here are. Eyes waiting to be eaten, thus blinding you. During your teenager years, you may not have wished wished for dangerous, but you had the teenage angst inside you to want to be rebellious and do something bad. Or like the people in this generation.... Trying to leave everyone behind, thinking they're getting fame off of youtube, Facebook likes, Etc. They take their shot of diamonds, and missed hearing the voice inside them so many famous "Hero's" show that anyone can possess. they tell you to believe, and anything you try hard to believe, will do it's best to happen.

correction, this song was not written for Watchmen, it was used in the batman and robin movie which would be the only reference of any superheroes so its possible that it is written for Batman and Robin or Wayne and Grayson. The fact it was used in Watchmen just shows the greatest of the smashing pumpkins

blissed and gone was a smashing pumpkins song billy released on the
"still becoming apart" EP which was given away with machina to the
first lucky pre-order fans. It is a heartbreaking EP containing many
small photos of all the band members (but not many of billy) and there
is a demo instrumental called "hope" recorded in 1988 - just two
delayed guitars for 3 minutes... and blissed + gone. The masterpiece in my humble opinion. The album version
contains less lyrics but live he sang "I had no voice
I had no drive
I had no choice
I've done my time
I had myself
Had my band
I had my love
Had no hand in watching it all fall apart "

adore era b side... also blissed + gone is "17 seconds" the 17 seconds of piano that closes the adore album- it's the same song!)

Unless billy corgan gets on here and openly states what this song is about then noone has any right to tell someone they are wrong for their interpretation. peace bitches.
