Slow Fade Lyrics - Casting Crowns

Review The Song (14)

Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away

It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

everything that came to my mind when i heard this | Reviewer: anonymous | 3/1/13

I am in complete awe because of this song. It reminded me of how I might see things even though i know whats at stake. For example, high school was a pain for everyone and they needed someone to take their frustration om and i was fine with it but then again i wasn't. This song basically told me that even though i close my eyes to deal with the pain, I wasn`t ready for what was really coming. Thank you casting crowns for ANOTHER amazing song. You guys are awesome and i love your music

Spirititual & emotional healing for my daughter | Reviewer: norma | 9/1/11

My teenage daughter and I saw Casting Crowns in concert and when they sang this song it brought revelation, spiritual and emotional healing to my daughter who had been in a bad relationship. This song opened her eyes and I thank the Lord for what He did that night! Thank you Jesus for using Casting Crowns!

Nothing Crumbles in a Day... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/7/10

I always used to feel guilty whenever I did something wrong, but somehow this has stopped happening.

I am finishing up my senior year at a Christian university, and it has many small rules. I began breaking small rules with the justification that I have fairly strong moral values and the things I was doing wouldn't actually be wrong if I was not at my university. I grew up in a fairly Legalistic church. When I realized that my church was this way (and my university somewhat was as well), I did not want my own faith to be Legalistic, and this caused me to bend more rules. I was viewing the black and white as gray.

I also began doing little things like speeding on long road trips and telling lies to stay out of trouble. After a while I realized that I was no longer feeling guilty about doing these small things, and that it was more difficult to feel guilty at all. It REALLY was a SLOW FADE. It isn’t worth it. IF I HAD REALIZED THAT IT WOULD TURN INTO WHAT IT DID, I WOULDN’T HAVE MADE THOSE LITTLE COMPROMISES.

“The journey from your mind to your hands is shorter than you’re thinking” is very true as well. It is incredible how much our thoughts, influences, and surroundings can impact our actions.

Slow Fade reminds us to always be aware. Have a child now going through a divorce and have seen the slow fade in their life, choices they made, it didn't happen in a day and little feet will pay the price. People need to listen and see what they are really doing to families!

Be Careful--Slow Fade | Reviewer: Johana Bearfield | 12/5/08

I caught this song on the Radio as I was coming home from work, and the words really stood out.
This ties in with what my parents and family has been saying about my internet use--and other things, but entertainment especially.
Its been ages since I thought about "Be Careful Little Feet where you go". The slight changes really stand out.
Thanks be given to God who gave Casting Crowns the words and let us hear the song. Not to mention the lyrics.

This is a hard song to swallow especially since my husband and I are struggling through a recent affair. I wish my husband could've heard this sooner...Satan knows our weaknesses...little does he know, he only made us stronger! After several months of counseling and MUCH prayer,God is helping us with forgiveness. He died for that sin too! He's the only one that can help the pain fade...Trust God...he'll intervene if you let him:)

So True | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/20/08

I heard this song on the radio and it sent shivers down my spine. It is a chilling truth, that often little things that are not dealt with accumulate into suddenly very serious problems. And to think, a lot of the junk going on in the world today could've been prevented by one choice...

Grey | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/6/08

I absolutely love this song! First of all Casting Crowns is an amazing group with very thought provoking and powerful songs! Anyways, this song just speaks to me and especially recently. Thinking back on how I've ended up where I am today, it was all because of little compromises along the way. It truly is a slow fade... I used to think certain things were black or white, but lately everything is grey, and it's because of the slow fade. I know that through God's mercy, forgiveness, and the blood of Jesus that I will be restored, strengthened, and healed! I want to encourage anyone that reads this to stand firm! Always stay in God's word and always seek him daily! It's so easy to make a little compromise without even realizing how much it will cost you later on, and a bunch of little compromises here and there will leave you slowly fading, black and white turning to grey, somewhere you don't want to be! So to anyone that reads this, stay strong in your faith! Never compromise for anyone or anything! It's not worth it in the end. God bless!

Wow! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/8/07

This song is wonderful! I so think this is sooooo true, even of our world today. We no longer see black and white, but having alot of gray areas. Those grays have caused alot of people to get lost in their walk and get confused. Including me, it stops us from our mission. It's what God talks about in His Word...about how it's the little Fox's that spoil the vine, Solomon 2:15. Please pray for these times.....and keep singing truth!

An Awakened Soul | Reviewer: Susan | 10/3/07

This song hit home with me at the concert in Bakersfield, CA on Oct. 1st. 2007.

Slow fade . . . So subtle before we know it, we're drowning in mistakes, loneliness, dispare and so forth. And allowing others to influence our lives.
I now pray that my soul & spirit are awkened, refreshed and ready to guard what the Lord has placed in me and intended me to be. I hope you'll find your purpose and stand strong, too. With God's Blessings!

Thank you, Casting Crowns ...

Thinking About Fading! | Reviewer: Samantha | 9/27/07

This song to me is really open. It reminds us that it don't happen in a day...its a slow fade..and to always watch what we. I know I don't wanna crumble. I really enjoy this song. I reminds me to be careful of what I do, say, look at..everything. Casting Crowns has that ability to put real BIG messages into there songs. They go far beyond the praise and worship type. I really enjoy all there music and can't wait to see them in Charleston, Wv for there Alter and the Door Tour!

Slow Fade | Reviewer: Mark | 9/21/07

Great song. It's so true that we sin so often that we become numb to it. We turn our backs on God that we slowly fade away. An eye opener.
