Slint was formed in the late eighties and has released two
critically acclaimed albums that, to this day, are
unrivaled in their intensity and beauty. TWEEZ, Slint's
first record, was originally released on the Jennifer
Hartman Records label in 1988 and re-issued by Touch and Go
in May of 1993. SPIDERLAND, number two for the band and the
first released by Touch and Go, saw daylight in April of
1991. Both records have gone on to become highly successful
and seem to increase in popularity with each passing week.
1994 saw the release of an untitled single. It contains a
new version of "rhoda" taken from the Tweez album and one
previously unheard song which mirrors more the beauty of
Spiderland. Whether or not this single acts as fitting
homage signalling the end of More...

------ About the song Don, Aman performed by Slint
I think this song is primarily about alienation, awkwardness, and the inability to fit in.
The narrator appears to be at a party. He has said things he regrets and made awkward conversation. He recognizes the 'others' - everyone else at the gathering - and feels he'll never be among their ranks. The lines after this (Like walking through an empty house,
Speaking to an imaginary audience) reinforce his feelings of isolation
When he leaves the party he feels liberated by "howling/laughing", essentially venting frustrations at his inability to fit in. The line "...himself, he felt he knew what that was" means that he hasn't figured himself out yet despite thinking that he has a good read on himself. I think this line summarizes his desire to break out of his awkward mindset.
At the end, he wakes, seeing himself in the mirror (his 'friend', i.e. himself). I am a bit confused about the lines "he knew what he had to do, he was responsible" could be read as suicidal or could be read as his coming to terms with his social shyness and taking on the responsibility to change it.
