Slave Lyrics - Lucky Dube

Review The Song (6)

Ministers of religion
have visited me many times
to talk about it
They say to me
I gotta leave it I gotta leave it
It's a bad habit
for a man
But when I try to leave it
my friends keep telling me
I'm a fool amongst fools

Chorus:
Now I'm a slave, a slave
I'm a slave
I'm a liquor slave
I'm a slave, a slave, slave
I'm a slave
Just a liquor slave

I have lost my dignity
I had before trying
to please everybody
Some say to me
yo yo
I look better when I'm drunk
Some say no no no
I look bad you know
Sometimes I cry
I cry but my crying
never helps me none

Chorus:
'Cos now I am a slave, a slave
I'm a slave
I'm just a liquor slave
I am a slave, a prisoner
I'm a slave
Just a liquor slave

Every night when I'm
coming back home
My wife gets worried
'cos she knows
Shes got double trouble
coming home
Sometimes I cry
I cry lord I cry
But my crying
never helps me

Chorus: (till fade)

SORRY, but you're very wrong,if you listen to many of his songs you'll understand that he talks about life and his personal life,
(you cannot easily understand except you're patient,he was in a secret CULT!).... wait!!!...
This track here is expresses his personal life by not being able to he change from drinking, due to what he knows in his own world, someone whose ready to reveal the truth and die,how does it feel in that kind of world??? his song prisoner reveals secrets which was why he was killed,he died to tell the TRUTH,(that's who lucky dube was,and he said that in his song 'for the love of the nation' his track PRISON explains that there will be no SCHOOLS any more and everything will be PRISON PRISON,(NO JOKE!!!) he wasn't just saying it,BUT,in reality soon in this world is going to be like that except you collect the todays 'obama'666 microchips,THAT'S why he was killed he revealed so many secret, that's why we have bobmarley who unlike what the media said,he was killed, when you listen to his songs too with a different perspective you'll ear many of this same messages(this his who they are)they are the ones that have told the TRUTH,2pac,micheal jackson, houston, eminem, kanye west, ven to the lyrics of rock music.and so many.
GLOBAL WARMING!!! i used to sleep like he said in PRISONER!!!

Effect of liquor to man | Reviewer: Godswill Akpan | 12/19/12

I've come to understand that if there is any ting that enslaves man is drink, just like lucky has said here, any man who is addicited to drink wil surely be a slave to it, cause all his income and his mind will be center on liquor. I like the songs, it shows that there are people who will always push you into doing bad, and the are other's who will always try to help his fellow out bad.

SELF MADE SLAVERY | Reviewer: Akinyemi Joel | 10/29/12

The ingenuity with which Lucky Dube presented his argument is nothing but that of a genius. He depicted the support one gets from friends and the shame that comes with it and finally depicted the addictive nature of alchohol by slavery; the man named LUCKY DUBE was just too good to lose!
