I love this song; Shannon Hoon is probably one of the best songwriters ever to exsist. I think it's really cool how he'd write about real things. Not just make up something and go with it. He'd actually write about things that affected him, in some way. I don't think the song is creepy at all. It's really good and I love how Blind Melon made the song sound so simple when obviously the song isn't about something simple at all.
