Skillet Lyrics

Classic rock riffs, swirling drums, monstrous hooks, and
undeniably catchy choruses... hints of old school
progressive rock mixed in with modern alternative
flourishes... touches of classical influence as swelling
strings intersect with sonic adrenaline rushes. It's indeed
a fusion unlike any other, marking the latest chapter in
the continuous evolution of Skillet, whose moniker couldn't
be more fitting for their explosive new Lava/Atlantic
Records release, Comatose.

The project follows Skillet's 2004 Lava/Atlantic debut,
Collide, More...

Review about Skillet songs
Uh............ | Reviewer: LarrytheSkilletFan
------ About the song Imperfection performed by Skillet

I'm not exactly sure what to say other than after reading Adam Rock's statement and knowing what I used to have to deal with in my own life. Well, for all the times that I've wanted to kill myself but never followed through makes me believe that God really does love me. Honestly, if He can take a drug addict like me, I'm sure He could take you too.

One of my favorite songs off this album | Reviewer: LarrytheSkilletFan
------ About the song Better Than Drugs performed by Skillet

Boy oh boy, as a recovering drug addict myself that found Christ late in life, this song hits home. So glad I have Someone such as Christ that is so much safer and healthier to have in my life.

You're Wonderfully Made | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song Imperfection performed by Skillet

No matter who tries to bring you down in life and you can continue to beat yourself up through your failures, but one thing will always remain and that is the fact that you are wonderfully made by God.

What Is Comforting To You | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song Comatose performed by Skillet

Since Skillet is a Christian band, the fact that non-Christians are giving us their takes on this tells me that they're curious enough to give Christian music a chance. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we should not be trolling them but welcome them to the Truth that awaits them.

It can be comforting to take these lyrics and apply them to your own life, but the fact remains that he is talking to God and how he longs for more of Him to help him not be comatose.

What Does It Mean To Be Awake and Alive | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song Awake And Alive performed by Skillet

To all of the Christians reading this and writing on these forums, let your words be few so to speak volumes about the Love of Christ.
Though we will always be "at war with the world," there isn't a need to downgrade ourselves to become one with the darkness.
I'm awake and alive. Are you?

Inner Demons | Reviewer: LarrytheSkilletFan
------ About the song Sometimes performed by Skillet

In my opinion, I think this is a song trying to figure one's own inner demons that try to take a hold of oneself. Its the struggle of giving it up to God and "sometimes" its just not that easy to be a Christian.

Hmmm...Well...Okay...Here's My Take | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song Gasoline performed by Skillet

Since I figure no one's ever said anything on this and I remember when it first came out, well, here goes.
The bass seems to lead a fair amount but does let a nice colorful yet grungeful guitar try to come in.
Anyways, the lyrics, yup, its about God trying to grab your heart. Don't let up on Him if He wants your heart. He is God, and you are man, and don't forget that.

To All of the Teenagers Out There | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song Those Nights performed by Skillet

The band I used to play in did a cover of this song and after it was over, the lead singer let me talk about it.

I may come off as "old" to some on here these days, but I do remember being a teenager. I may not face what teenagers face these days as its a different world for you than what I went through. With that in mind and reading all of the comments before me, that night after we played this. I said something along these lines:

"I'm not where you are at in your own life. I don't know what situation any of you are in, but some of you could have the absolute best family life and some of you could have the absolute worst family life. No matter where you are at and whatever you need to vent with your friends, just know that God is always here for you."

We played one more song, exited the stage and prayed with a whole lot of teens that night. If I remember correctly, at twenty kids came to Christ that night.

Adam, lead guitarist of Stain Glass Mercy (thank you to Skillet for making better music than what we tried to write).

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 | Reviewer: Adam Rock
------ About the song A Little More performed by Skillet

I, for one, love how Skillet can have a deafening loudness throughout a lot of their music but can still tone it somewhat done in a song like this.

As for the meaning, the review title says it all: need I say anything more? Other than 1 John 4:8.

Good, but old. | Reviewer: Raym0nd
------ About the song Monster performed by Skillet

When i heard this song first on SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, i thught "hm...haven't i heard of this before?". The theme, the riffs, the vocals, everything seems as if i have listened to this kind of song a long time ago.

Turns out i compared the song to "Animal I Have Become" by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace, my favorite song on the SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 soundtrack. I tried listening to the two songs back to back and then i realized i was right, they do sound alike

The Verdict: Monster is a good song by one of my favorite Christain metal bands, Skillet. it just dosen't sound that original. Still, if you're into songs that talk about uncontrollable rage, this is a good song to add in your playlist.
