Set against the frenzied world of heavy metal superstardom,
the cofounder of the most legendary rock band of the
eighties—Mötley Crüe—offers an unflinching and utterly
gripping look at his own descent into drug addiction.
Few bands were as influential as Mötley Crüe in making the
1980s the heavy metal decade. Theirs is a cyclonic story of
runaway success and its price, blending outrageous record
sales and arena headline tours with smashed up cars, jail
sentences, models, drugs, breakups, reunions and more
breakups.
In this candid memoir, Nikki Sixx—Mötley Crüe’s bassist and
main songwriter—recounts the band’s heyday. The Heroin
Diaries takes readers along on one of the most breathless

------ About the song Life Is Beautiful performed by Sixx:A.M.
My father, he enjoyed this song rather a lot before he over-dosed on heroin. I wish he could have opened his eyes to the real beauty of the world, the meaning of this song. In a sense his funeral opened my eyes to the beauty of the world and it's questions. This song says to me, that he wants the person who cares about him to move on and see everything around outside of sadness is beautiful, he wants people to not cry about his demise because things are going to happen in life that will force you to chose. I don't know, but that's what this song says to me..

I absolutely love this song. whenever life is going good, whenever life is going crappy, whenever I feel just like crawling under the covers and sleeping the day away, and I hear this song -- I realize that I just need to open my eyes to the beauty of life. sure, sunny days and romance and starry nights and fireworks are beautiful, and they make us all feel good ... but what about those not-so-good days? those times where we wonder, "what am I still living for?" there is something about this song that really resonates inside of me, reminding me that even the little, mundane things in life are BEAUTIFUL. my 4-year-old brother giving me a hug & kiss, someone being courteous on the road, finding a good sale, laughing with friends. these are life, and these are beautiful.

------ About the song Pray For Me performed by Sixx:A.M.
im so glad that i found these lyrics. i heard sixx:am's first song life is beautiful. and i totally love the sound of their music. of course tho im a rocker. i loved nikki sixx in motley crue and now i love him in sixx:am. rock on nikki sixx!!
This is the first time i ever heard of Sixx:A.M. but like they say better late then never.
First and formost the first song I heard from them was 'Life Is Beautiful" thanks to a friend, led me to look around for more and found "Pray For Me". so far loving the sound! Its what music has been missing for a long time and I more than glad that its coming back and pray it never gos away.
One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Nikki Sixx is better on this album than any of the Motley Crue albums. It's an album that can be depressing, and yet, as strange as it sounds, is full of hope.

------ About the song Life Is Beautiful performed by Sixx:A.M.
Amazing song. I really think that this song means a lot, to anyone. Anyone who understands the meaning to the lyrics, the feeling, and just the purity of them, they would easily fall in love with the lyrics. This song is about how people don't think hard enough about their life, they take everything for granted and waste their life away, without realizing that it could take just one thing to change things around. You see, it took him a funeral to change, and if it takes you that long to change your habits, it could've been you. Think about those things before you go and do something stupid. "Is it really worth it?" Is it really worth going out, getting drunk, driving, and dying? Can you imagine the pain your family would feel, or in the other case, what the family of the victim would feel? I could not imagine having to see my parents at my funeral because I was stupid. Just, seeing other people hurt because their child was stupid and died, makes me feel so bad inside. It could've been prevented. And if that doesn't bug you, think about it being someone else in your family, dying from being hit by a drunk driver! If you really loved your family, and they were gone in an instant, how would you feel? I bet you wouldn't feel so good, would you? That's why I think more people should listen to this song. Whether you like the song or not, it displays a good message and shows how bad it had to be for him before he gave up on his addiction problems. Don't let it get that far. I'm just a teen, and I don't wanna die at a young age because of some idiot driving drunk! I don't wanna see anyone in my family die because of that. It was bad enough seeing my grandma die of natural causes. I just don't understand why people are so stupid! So please, the next time you go out, party, get drunk....think about whose life you might take and remember how bad you will feel afterwards. Life is too beautiful to waste, so be responsible and take the time to think, "Is it really worth it?"
