Sissy's Song Lyrics - Alan Jackson

Review The Song (14)

Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason without rhyme
Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter, wife and mother
Makes no sense to me
I just have to believe

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and paths where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me

Loved ones she left behind
Just trying to survive
Can't understand the why

Feeling so lost inside
Anger shot straight at God
Then asking for His love
Empty with disbelief
Just hoping that maybe

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and paths where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me

It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish
And I won't cry 'cause

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and paths where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me

This song speaks to every one that hears it that has ever had death of a loved one. You best freind, mother, father, or even just he neighbor. They all have places in our hearts. And for the few that capture our hearts and fill them with the truest form of joy or love. When they perrish it is a heavey loss. This song helped me come to terms with the loss of my Great Uncle frank who Died years ago. I loved him so much. He was my DAD. And i know, but he was not the one who gave you life. and you would be right he wasn't. Any one can be a father, but it takes some one truly special to be a DAD. He raised me taught me what i needed to know and helped me realize my goals in life. This song is so deep. simplistic notes and slow beat make the song even more meaningful. The lyrics are perfect and I would have not expected any less of Allen Jackson. I just hope that other can see the true perfection that is this song as clearly as those who have felt the kind of loss this song describes. No flaws to be found and an enlightening view of how others feel are what made this song get a perfect score in my book.

On February 23, 2009 I had my best friend that was dignosed with spindle sarcoma cancer pass away at the age of 14. I never thought that some thing this horrable could happen to someone my age. She wasnt an only child she had two little sisters and it was hard for every one she was a great friend and she passed away 1 week and 3 days after her birthday. She had just turned 14. She will never be forgotten and we will miss her so much. This song reminds me of Courtney Beacause she never wanted us to think of her she wanted us to think about her sisters and mom and dad. She is still in my heart today we will miss you Courtney. 02.11.95-02.23.09

Your song has hit a huge spot in my heart. My sister has been given less than a year to live and it's ripping me apart. Her cancer is agressive and we do not know how long we will have with her. When i first heard this song, I cried and I know that, when it does come time, it will be a comfort to me. God love you Alan Jackson - you sing from the heart.

My daughter passed away in a car accident. We are raising her daughter and we were riding in our van and my grandaughter started to sing this song with Alan on the radio. She said after the song,"That is sad about Alan's sister and he is also singing about my Mamma." I would like to think Alan Jackson for writing that song it really touches peoples hearts. Ashly is 11 yrs. old. She died 7 yrs. ago. That song is Beautiful
Thank You

This song was a big help to me and my friends this past week we were celebrating our last week as seniors in high school, and on June 1,2009 one of our dear friends was injured in a bad car accident and she was called to be with the lord above on the morning of June 2,2009 . We played this song at her candle ceremony that night and ever time I here it makes me think of her b/c the way we felt was in the first verse
“Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason without rhyme
Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter makes no sense to me
I just have to believe."
Kim Shea is truly the angel and she will be our light. And we will miss here.

Judy's Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/27/09

We were working on a KAIROS weekend at the prison (Briscoe in Texas) when my son and I were escorted to the wardens office and were told our Judy had died in a train wreck as she was returning from an errand for the out side team who did the cooking for the inside team and the 42 men in white we were ministering to. The KAIROS team decided to continue with the ministry in her honor. My son in law heard this song as he was waiting to enter the Church for her funeral and later his son bought the cd so I could listen to it. It has been a great blessing to me as it has made the pain less and less every day. God bless you for the words. Jim
(Kairos is an international prison ministry that goes back to the prison at least three times a month)
