    Review about Simon and Garfunkel

my no.1 | Reviewer: nishant pradhan
------ About the song The Boxer performed by Simon and Garfunkel

probably one of simon and garfunkel's best songs. the lyrics have a timeless appeal and people will be able to relate to the song even when other songs are forgotten. easily one of the best song written.

    I Am a Rock | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song I Am a Rock performed by Simon and Garfunkel

It honestly never occurred to me that this was supposed to be taken seriously. The sadness in his voice in the last part of the song makes it seem pretty obvious that it's mocking the point of view expressed earlier in the song, at least to me. Think what you want.

------ About the song SCARBOROUGH FAIR performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Wow! What a beautiful song! I really enjoy listening to it on youtube. And I play it on the recorder back at home. An amazing folk song! Beautiful lyrics beautiful beat amazing just amazing. Simon and Gunkunful really mastered this.

Simon and Garfunkel are the best | Reviewer: Nikki
------ About the song The Boxer performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Amazing song writters, they are the best. Im in my early 30s and I prefer music from this era as opposed to current music because its real. They wrote most of it and sang it themselves. Someone else didnt write it, or sing it for them. Listening to it takes me back to my childhood and I picture my parents in their younger days, and myself, so little and carefree!

The true author of Bright Eyes | Reviewer: Anna Maria
------ About the song Bright Eyes performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Please correct:Mike Britt wrote the song Bright Eyes for the animated film version of Watership Down ('70). Recorded by Art Garfunkel, it reached number 1 in the UK singles chart.
Paul Simon has nothing to do with this song.
    Greeting,
    Anna Maria

If you like this one with those nifty back ground lyrics, I suggest you find and listen to their "Silent Night/6 O'clock News"...It just might give you chills.
As for this one--one internet site (I forget which)suggests that parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme was an ancient "morning after" remedy to prevent pregnancy.

------ About the song Feuilles-O performed by Simon and Garfunkel

A rather haunting rendition of this song was recorded in the 1950s by Ferere Laguerre and the Choeur Simidor. You can hear this and other songs by them at http://choeur-simidor-track-05-feuilles-mp3-download.kohit.net/_/160906

    bittersweet | Reviewer: Janie
------ About the song Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. performed by Simon and Garfunkel

the wording, the harmony, the fact that it is naked guitar and vocals. automatically makes the song really real and personal. Very bittersweet, it puts you right in the place and time and feeling of the song. The lyrics are very well written, and make your soul become this person with their struggle. One of my favorites at the moment

------ About the song SCARBOROUGH FAIR performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Beautiful. So beautiful it reigns in my head. I was going to Scarborough the other day, and this song suddenly came into my mind...It's beautiful.

I'm sixteen at the moment I'm posting this. Can't be helped, but I listen to Simon&Garfunkel, the Beatles, Bee Gees, all those sweet old things. Scarborough Fair is one of those I love most.

Is it really, you know, about the Vietnam war? Just being curious, because, well, I'm from Vietnam.

American Tune is Universal | Reviewer: priya chaturvedi
------ About the song AMERICAN TUNE performed by Simon and Garfunkel

the music follows predictable melodic patterns and modulations, but is redeemed by the lyrics which mirror the weltschmerzen and disenchantment with icons in these `dark ages`. Yet they are also intensely personal in their pain and resignation and the song ends on a marvellously unsentimental, even curt note. My favourite of all S&G songs

    Excellence | Reviewer: Jakki
------ About the song The Boxer performed by Simon and Garfunkel

I have to completely agree with the other reviews. This song can relate to everyone in their own way. I am only 17, this song was written 40 years ago, and I can relate to it in ways. If you havn't been through the things in this song yourself, you know someone who has, and it makes you appreciate what you have got and makes the small problems in your life feel simpler. I love Simon & Garfunkel and long live their repituar.

    Mesmerizing | Reviewer: Joseph
------ About the song SCARBOROUGH FAIR performed by Simon and Garfunkel

This was originally an English folk song about a boy and a young lover and the Scarborough fair, anyone would know that from looking at wikipedia. The thing is the second lyrics behind the originals are lyrics against the Vietnam War, placed there in a magnificent manner through sublime notes. Indeed, truly mesmerizing. I had personally never heard of these guys before, but after listening to this song I just might start, because folk music is really relaxing and truly touching, and even though I am into metal, there is always a variety of music to listen to and masterpieces like these should never be discarded by anyone who truly appreciates music.

------ About the song SCARBOROUGH FAIR performed by Simon and Garfunkel

So this is originally a folk song.. At first I thought this was composed by simon and garfunkel. Well, I have their "the Best" album. When you listen to it, this fact won't change about how talented they are. Eventhough I found some of their piece are "hard" listening, like "Bookends". My fave are "America", "Sound of Silence" and this one.

ITS SADDEST SOUND - El Condor Pasa | Reviewer: indieboy
------ About the song El Condor Pasa performed by Simon and Garfunkel

A MAN GETS TIED UP TO THE GROUND AND IT GIVES THE WORLD ITS SADDEST SOUND
Within all our hearts is a secret but real passion to find God. He has placed this need within all mankind.
Here we see the Inca view whereby they are responding to the call of God the creator. They know that when they are pursuing the things of earth that this is not good for them. That is what is meant by giving the world its saddest sound.
How many lives have met a cruel fate because of man's greed? And it affects all of us not only the rich. When we place ourselves before God and our fellow men we give the world its saddest sound.

Jesus said this:  "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
And he also said this: "`YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.´  "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, `YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.´"

Our mission in life is to love God and through loving God we are to love our fellow man.
We all know this but are too selfish to do it. That, I believe, is the meaning of this beautiful song.

    French translation | Reviewer: Ole
------ About the song Feuilles-O performed by Simon and Garfunkel

I have studied some french, and with the help of a dictionary (http://www.french-linguistics.co.uk/dictionary/), I have found a translation of teh french lyrics, quite different from the translation provided here. "Dans mes yeux" means in my eyes, and "mouilles" is a form of the verb "mouiller" which means to water, fill with tears - my eyes fill with tears. I can't really find a good translation of "caille", but "ceur" means heart so I would think "mon ceur caille gangan" means "my heart beats "gang-gang"". I don't know about "si me l'eau" but "eau" means water.

------ About the song Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Our small women's choir will be singing this song at the gathering to open the Season of Non-Violence. A perfect song for that occasion. Timeless. Our director has written parts for many singers. If you're interested, I could email them to you. JRS

the sound of silence | Reviewer: Michelle Schwimer
------ About the song The Sound Of Silence performed by Simon and Garfunkel

Funny how a song that was written so many years ago can relate to the times of today.Listening to the words makes me think of our latest Presidential election and how the people of this country were silent no more. No longer following the Republican neon lights. People all around the world speaking, listening, sharing no longer in the sound of silence.

    Benedictus | Reviewer: dcart
------ About the song Benedictus performed by Simon and Garfunkel

There is not a more soothing set of lyrics than those from the song, Benedictus as performed by Simon and Garfunkle. The beauty of the harmony created by Simon and Garfunkel remind you of a prayer to celebrate His caring love for all of mankind. It is a shame that I do not know the Latin meaning of the words, however, it is not necessary when you allow the music to touch your soul. Somewhere there is reverence for the wonder of life!

truth about da world | Reviewer: nurul
------ About the song The Sound Of Silence performed by Simon and Garfunkel

first i heard this song around my age 10 ..my dad really luv it..and now i'm 20..this song wanna tell us what is lying inside the world..
    People talking without speaking,
    People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
people are unexpctd..we never know what inside them..all are hidden...but life still goes on

    Explanation | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song The Sound Of Silence performed by Simon and Garfunkel

No, I don't believe this song is the least bit condescending. Simon or whoever is having the dream is simply trying to warn the 10,000 people that silence is dangerous and offers to teach them his words and reach out his arms to help them. However, they ignore him and continue to worship the "neon light."
