Acquiring the name from the famous children's author,
Silverstein was formed in early 2000 in an attempt to tear
down the boundaries between Hardcore, Emo and Punk.
Originally started as a side project, the band was a chance
for its members to try something new and get away from
their current Punk, Metal, Ska and Hardcore bands.

Coming from the thriving scene of Southern Ontario, which
includes such acts as Grade, Jersey, Moneen, and Maharahj,
Silverstein was met with immediate success, and quickly
self-released their first CD-EP, "Summer's Stellar Gaze" in
Summer 2000. This release was met with huge local success
and led to great respo More...

    Review about Silverstein

You fill my head with endless lies... | Reviewer: Lindsey Scruggs
------ About the song Worlds Apart performed by Silverstein

Silverstein is a very in-depth band and most of their listeners only hear their music due to some scene clique they have going with their wannabe friends. I've listened to Silverstein for an insanely long time, and this has got to be one of their all time best songs.

    Kudos Silverstein. <3

    Awesome! | Reviewer: Aiden
------ About the song Smashed Into Pieces performed by Silverstein

I've heard my heroine and Smile in your sleep, but this one is topping one of my favorite silverstein tracks! It has deep meaning and really helps me to relax when life seems very difficult.

People who are saying they are shit and all that, just please leave it be, everyone is different and expresses themselves in different ways, so shut up and stop the hate.

I've really grown to love silverstein a lot, and hopefully one day I shall book some tickets to see them!

    KEEP IT ROCKING SILVERSTEIN!

    Aiden x

------ About the song Here Today, Gone Tomorrow performed by Silverstein

shane told wrote this song about john beatz of bayside. john died in a car wreck in colorado, the line in the song

"An icy road with no remorse.
A metal box drifting off course is taking everything.
I can't believe we lost you"

an icy road, the highway that they were on had been snowed on and was bad weather. and a metal box drifting, that would be the van.

he was a extremely great friend to silverstein and pretty much all the bands of this genre. and it was a terrible loss. but bayside didnt quit or just forget him, for quiet a while, they didnt replace him, they went to acoustic and released a cd.

its a wonderful song, and it should mean alot to anybody who has lost somebody dear to them.

------ About the song Already Dead performed by Silverstein

The song is definitely about The Lovely Bones, the lead singer of Silverstein even mentioned it in his blurb about the song in their Deluxe edition of their "Discovering the Waterfront" album. It's an amazing song based on an amazing book!

------ About the song My Heroine performed by Silverstein

my best friend told me i needed to put this song on my mp3 and then my grandma gave me an ipod. i bought the song without even listening to it and i love it! i miss my best friend, we dont go to the same school anymore and i dont think ill be able to see her for a long time.

and girls whos bfs dedicated this song to them. they basically lied to you, or just ended up feeling different about you in the end. they basically told you they were addicted to you, but im not sure if they even realized the part where they had to break you, their habbit.

    thats it.

------ About the song Discovering the Waterfront performed by Silverstein

This song touches my soul, and burdens my heart. Every time I hear it, It reminds me of my first love of three years.

She still means the world to me, but she has moved on.

And I will cling on to this song for that memory, in hope of one day, being able to move on myself.

------ About the song Discovering the Waterfront performed by Silverstein

I just recently got dumped. So my best friend came over to cheer me up. I had never listened to silverstein, nor had I ever heard of them. She put this song on for me to listen to. (Cause no one likes to listen to happy songs when your heart just got ripped out of your chest. And if you do... you need help) I fell in love with the song! Its all my emotions wrapped up into the perfect song. Its everything I feel, want to feel, know im going to feel someday, and everything I want to tell my ex. Silverstein is a genius! So yeah. Spread this song around the world. Almost everyone will relate. Its that good!

------ About the song Call it Karma performed by Silverstein

the first bar of the lyrics "BLAME IT ON THE WEATHER" it really struck my bones off! bcoz i have this friend on "friendster" who recently moved on to other place and we haven't met in person yet! im so so so disappointed when she said that coz after months of chating with her over YM then suddenly she said she had moved to other place.=( you see i was so prepared to meet her in person and ask for a date or what but look the irony is tragic!!! i'll just "BLAME it on the WEATHER" but still im looking forward in meeting her in person in the near future. who knows maybe she's the ONE.. .ü -

------ About the song Discovering the Waterfront performed by Silverstein

I'm blessed with such a wonderful husband,we've been married for almost three years now. Then here's this guy who's been with me for 9 years to this day who recently told me that he loves me still. I was 15 and I thought the love he felt before was just plain attraction. We talked about the "shoulda-woulda-coulda" things no matter how painful it is for both of us, especially on his part. I told him I know how he feels through this song. We listen to it whenever we long for each other. He's suppose to get married next year and I'm hoping he will pursue his plans. He deserves to be happy.
When you love someone, just tell it to her/him right on. The moment may come back and yes, there would be another chance to say it but you might also be too late. And the sad part is that she/he could've been yours...
    "We don't belong together" now.

------ About the song Bleeds No More performed by Silverstein

ok there's no need to criticize people for cutting.
people deal with their own problems in their own ways. some ways help them deal with the pain of some things like depression or a heartbreak
these ways are different for everyone.
so until you put yourself in their position and put yourself in their mind set, don't criticize them
    and i love silverstein :)

------ About the song Already Dead performed by Silverstein

i dont thin this song is based on a book. i think its about a guy who loved a girl who didnt love him back and finally it drove him insane. i think the insanity made him break into her room and kill himself to make her realze how much she cared about him

------ About the song Discovering the Waterfront performed by Silverstein

This song rocks. I think it is about the guy's girlfriend or something, that makes him feel like shit, and they always fight and she always lies. So he says its over, and he won't put up with it any more...

Just call it karma | Reviewer: Spaniard
------ About the song Call it Karma performed by Silverstein

Every time I listen to this song, I get mixed feelings. I get rather sad but, at the same time, it comforts me. No doubt, this track electrifies me!

Sad lyrics but optimistic at the same time, they encourage to move on and resume your life, it can't just end there! IMO, you can apply it to both friendship and love.

This song also reminds me of a very special person who bought me the Discovering The Waterfront CD. So how could I listen to it and not think of him?

    AWESOME track, guys!
