Showbiz Lyrics - Muse

Review The Song (15)

Controlling my feelings far too long
Controlling my feelings far too long

Controlling my feelings far too long
Controlling my feelings far too long
Forcing our darkest souls to unfold
Forcing our darkest souls to unfold
And pushing us into self destruction
And pushing us into self destruction

They make me, make me dream your dreams
They make me, make me scream your screams

Trying to please you far too long
Trying to please you far too long
Visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow

They make me, make me dream your dreams
They make me, make me scream your screams

Controlling my feelings far too long
Controlling our feelings far too long
And Forcing our darkest souls to unfold
And Forcing our darkest souls to unfold
And pushing us into self destruction
And pushing us into self destruction

They make me, make me dream your dreams
They make me, make me scream your screams

what the hell is a jacob? Or sam? Or bella? And what it has to do with muse? Please, keep all that to yourself. We dont want to hear that. As for the song,uh,i've wrote some kind of fanfic of this song in deviantart. And... Wait,i don't think anyone will care. Well, great song by great band. Keep up the good work!

Great song ! 2 thumbs up :D | Reviewer: Anoynmous | 12/29/11

Good song to sing along when you are depressed or angry. Lyrics arent the greatest, but the song overall is awesome! Especially the music and guitar solo. Unfortunate that s.m.blackhole was featured in twilight, but muse is a really good band, and i hope they release a new lbum anytime soon!

Great Band | Reviewer: Muse1 | 1/22/11

One of the best bands in my personal opinion, and just like Liese... Please Twilight (crap)has nothing to do with muse's music, they just happened to be chosen as part of the movie soundtrack (that means $$ for them) but one thing has nothing to do with the other...Muse rules, Twilight sucks bid time!

please | Reviewer: liese | 4/14/10

please, PLEASE stop all muse/twilight comparisons. or if you do continue making them, please keep them to yourself. Nobody but your fellow twihards wants to hear them.

seriously. i understand that smeyer is a muse fan, and i appreciate that you like muse (at least somewhat or you wouldn't be here) as well, just as i know supermassive black hole and i belong to you were featured in the movies, but STOP with the comparisons.

at least here, where there are non-twilight fans who don't appreciate the rabid frothing many of you guys spew.

enjoy the music. enjoy the band. but leave twilight out of it.

good sing | Reviewer: tammy | 3/3/10

It goes good with the twilight breaking dawn for jacob. he is supposed to be the alpha but he lets sam...then when sam wants to kill bella he realizes that he doesnt want to follow sam anymore..should be in the breaking dawn movie if you ask me for this part!!

Well... | Reviewer: Peter | 11/16/09

I think "Gui" is right. It's about Show business (hence the title)and greed. But I think it can have its own meaning to everyone. This can be, and is, interpreted as another song about heartbreak. I interpreted it like that the first time I heard it. And though I know its "true" meaning, I've still come back to this song when I was feeling down about my romantic relationships.

Well, you thought wrong dude. This song is about the industry, show business. They way they conquer people, making us feel unhappy with what we have, so we can be as greedy as we can. Amazing song, tells everything.

Muse ftw! | Reviewer: Rei | 7/31/09

Love this song!
I think it's about people expecting him to me a certain way, perhaps his father, and then him having to pretend to want the things they want him to want.
@Dario, not all of Muse's songs are about love...

Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/7/09

Brilliant track. I love the drums in the beginning of the track because they sound like war drums to me giving the track a feeling of uneasiness through the quiet beginning.

My only problem with this song is now when I try to right a song it always ends up like this. haha

Meaning | Reviewer: Dario | 11/18/08

for me this song is about falling for someone, who does not feel the same way. controlling my feelings towards this person for far too long, trying to please them for far too long, and pushing it into self destruction. amazing song & vocals.

more please | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/30/08

Absolutely love this song...

The thing about Black holes is that none of the songs are as raw as showbiz.
I saw MUSE live in sydney last year and it was insane, but I see the way they bring out huge screens and flashy lights - I love that, but I would love to see some of their amazing showbiz stuff

I hoped they'd play at least one song off showbiz but unfortunately they didnt. Mark my words - if i see Muse play this song live, I will die a happy man

showbiz | Reviewer: Brian | 7/10/07

the gradual increment of power in this song and bellamy's vocals are incredible. muse is quickly becoming at this time and now has become one of rock's greatest bands of all time..

Enthralling | Reviewer: Delilah | 6/17/07

This is one song that helps to make Muse one of my favorite bands. I love how Matthew Bellamy shows the beauty of his voice in this song---it makes the lyrics all the more powerful. I find myself turning this song up every time I hear it.

Simply lovely.

Amazing | Reviewer: Kira | 3/3/07

Beautiful and very powerful vocals.
Reminds me of the media's effect on society and society's effect on every individual.

No matter how many times I've listened to this track, it still amazes me..! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/2/07

Matthew Bellamy really shows his vocal potential here. This song starts out rather slow and quiet and gradually gains power and feeling as the singer explodes letting out all of his suppressed feelings. It's a dark, mysterious, chilling and melancholic song. I love it!
