Emerson, Lake & Palmer Show Me the Way to Go Home Lyrics

Last updated: 01/22/2014 12:23:33 PM

(King, Swain)

Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago
And it went right to my head
No matter where I roam
Over land or sea or foam
You can always hear me singing this song
Show me the way to go home.

Indicate the road to my abode
I'm weary and I want to retire
I imbibed too many drinks sixty minutes ago
And they went straight to my cerebellum
Where ever I may perambulate
On land, or sea or atmospheric vapor
You can always hear me singing my song
Indicate the road to my abode

Take my hand and lead me. Ii can't do it alone. Someone gave me a drink a while ago. I know it wasn't my own. What ever was in it. Made me want to get in bed. And I did the opposite. instead. So if ever you should see me where I shoudn't be. Take mt hand sand show me the way to go home

The lyrics I learned in the 1960's | Reviewer: anon | 1/10/14

Indicate direction to my jungle bungalow
I'm fatigued and desire to retire
I indulged in a beverage 60 minutes ago
And it traveled straight to my cerebellum
Regardless where I perambulate
Terra firma, oceana, or atmospheric vapor
You can always hear me chanting my melody
Indicate direction to my jungle bungalow

Indicate the way to my domain | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/21/13

This is how I learned it:
Indicate the way to my domain
I'm fatigued and desire to retire
I had a little sip sixty minutes ago and it went right to my cerebellum
Where ever I may perambulate
On terra firma, agua or on H2O
You can always hear me vocalizing this refrain
Indicate the way to my domain.
It has been around a long time - we used to sing it when my kids were little and my "baby" just turned 50!!!

Lyrics second verse | Reviewer: Sarah | 6/13/13

I learned the second verse to be:
Direct me the route to my residence, I's fatigued and desire to retire. Cause i had a little swig bout an hour ago and it's gone right to my cranium. Where ever I may isolate, Where ever I may perambulate, you can always hear me vocalizin this diddy. direct me the route to my residence. My Dad use to sing this all the time. He was born in 1919 and was and Eagle Scout in Virginia

the British version | Reviewer: Robert | 2/17/13

Indicate the way to my abode
I'm fatigued and I want to retire
I had some liquid refreshments sixty minutes ago
And they've gone right to my cerebellum
no matter where I perambulate
On land, or sea or agitated water
You will always hear me singing this melody
Indicate the way to my abode
