He feels she cheated on him, but she never knew he really loved her until he finally expressed the way he felt and it was already too late to repair any damamge done to that relationship. To other it might be lying, cheating, or anything else. This is a harrowing tale of an extreme case in which the boy kills himself. This line is probably the deepest one in the entire song to me, just because it fits my current situation perfectly. By the way the woman in this song is Melanie Willis from One True Thing, and her voice is the most haunting thing I've ever heard, she was born to live out the role of Autumn with her voice. This song epitomizes what FATA is about, the very concept they were founded on. a title so befitting | Reviewer: Niki | 3/14/09 this song has several different meanings and i'm sure that's not just to the people who listen to their music, i'm sure Benjamin Perri had several different thoughts and feeling when he wrote that song, i myself write music and often i have several different thoughts going into one song. i think maybe that the suicide part is just a metaphor, its rare this day in age that artists deal with the topic of suicide so openly in music(too much contraversy, overreactive parents;media etc) to me at least i've tied this song into the break up with my girlfriend and just the relasionships i've had in general, short stories with tragic ending's is a horribly befitting title, for our relasionship was short lived, on and off and in the end, it ended very tragically. she was that "one person" and everything she does just draws me in and makes me melt, standing close to her and smelling her scent really does kill me. i definatly feel more in tune with the female led lyrics (and i believe its the lead from The Birthday Massacre that sings it, but i'm not sure) but the male parts were in that i felt alot of anger towards her for what she did to me, all in all, i think i would be dead if it weren't for songs like this its one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. <3 the thoughts of a razorblade | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/29/09 I thought the first verse was the guy breaking up and what-not like many say but i thought that the second verse might be sung by the razor blade. It can give freedom from guilt(death). A flick of my wrist onto yours is like the slash of the blade onto the wrist. I thought the forced smile was the cut. I think this song is about a girl who cheats on her boyfriend (probably slept with someone). He finds out & breaks up with her. (ie, instead of her killing herself) "you are the tragic loss." "Just the one composed with blood taken from your pen that you hold in your lifeless hand." This could be saying she's a bit of a goth & she's written a suicide note in her own blood, lifeless=dead etc. I think this is supposed to be what she wrote on the suicide note "Cry for you.
