Sarah Harmer Shine On Harvest Moon Lyrics

Last updated: 08/27/2012 11:03:53 AM

The night was mighty dark so you could hardly see
For the moon refused to shine
Couple sitting underneath the willow tree
For love, they pined

Little Maid was kinda 'fraid of darkness
So she says "I think i'll go."
Boy began to sigh, looked up to the sky
Told the moon his little tale of woe

So shine on
Shine on harvest moon
Up in the sky

I ain't had no lovin' since January, February, June or July

Snow time ain't no time to stay outdoors and spoon
So shine on
Shine on harvest moon for me and my gal

Snow time ain't no time to stay outdoors and spoon
So shine on
Shine on harvest moon for me and my gal

Exciting Astronomical Event: Blue Harvest Moon | Reviewer: Jack | 8/27/12

This year we are treated to an exciting astronomical event. The full moon at the end of August is the harvest moon and the subject of a traditional festival in China. It is also a blue moon because it is the second full moon during the same month. That makes it a blue harvest moon. My group will celebrate by singing "Shine on Harvest Moon" and then "Blue Moon" in the style of the Marcels.
