Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Lyrics - The Beatles

Review The Song (18)

It was twenty years ago today,
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
We hope you will enjoy the show
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Sit back and let the evening go
Sgt. Pepper's lonely, Sgt. Pepper's lonely
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

It's wonderful to be here
It's certainly a thrill
You're such a lovely audience

We'd like to take you home with us
We'd love to take you home

I don't really want to stop the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That the singer's going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Since what you are hearing doesn't make as much sense as what most others hear, I would propose you are experiencing an "audible illusion".
I'm sure you've seen examples in which the same sound clip can morph depending on what you see on screen?
Or my favorites come from the back-masking scene: where pure gobbledygook suddenly becomes an ode to satan once the lyrics are suggested to you!
Personally I hear the lyrics as written here. Cheers!

Eff you number all you gees? | Reviewer: The Uncelebrated Mister K | 8/10/13

This is not a review per se, but it is not a correction either as I don't know what, precisely, is correct. My point is that I hear, in my own original recording, nothing about a band I've known for all these years but something more like 'Eff you number all you gees.' Regards, Roger Kearns.

2 songs | Reviewer: erthona | 3/22/13

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "With a Little Help from My Friends" are listed separately on the track song listing, along with with their length, 2:02 and 2:44 respectively. This information is easy to find.

"People who assume they are always right are frequently in error."

Yeah, hi. | Reviewer: John's Boy | 11/6/12

With A Lil Help From My Friends and Sgt. Pepper are two totally different songs.
Also, why are you all bitching? You found lyrics, did you not?
Then stop complaining and enjoy this excellently moulded music.
Stupid, arrogant idiots.

You might also want to learn how to spell | Reviewer: JohnnyThunder | 12/17/11

Sir, you might also enjoy learning how to spell the following:
Your
You
Are
Doesn't
Obviously
And finally, jackass
You might also like to learn proper capitalization so that you don't sound and write like a buck toothed, hackneyed, inbred redneck hick who makes a rat turd look like it has Stephen Hawkings intelligence. Good day sir, long live The Beatles, God save the Queen, et cetera, et cetera...

What happened to the rest of it?!

'What would you think if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out of me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key.'

Why doesn't it show that whole part?! This was not helpful at all.

First off, really? You're going to care what some shmuck has to say about something you love? Why does his opinion have any effect on what you think? Secondly, you might want to learn how to spell faggot right.

Fact of the matter is, you love Sgt. Pepper, I love Sgt. Pepper, and anyone who doesn't is totally entitled to their own opinion. Really, its not that serious.

And in his defence, I seriously doubt you've never done any drugs. I've never met a Beatle fan who hasn't. Again, its not that serious. Chill out, and dig the music.

Day in the life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/28/09

Day in the life consists of two unfinished songs. John Lennon had a song that didnt have a middle part, and Paul McCartney had a song that he was working on. And they just tried to connect them, put Pauls song in the middle and it worked. They used a orcestra climaks to connect and end it. And in my opinion it is one of the greatest songs ever written.

concept album | Reviewer: baker | 12/1/07

Many critics agree that Sgt. Pepper was one of the first "concept album/rock operas." The songs go together b/c the album is meant to be played as a whole and, though these song fuse together best, all other songs musically blend with the complete record.

2 songs = 1 medley | Reviewer: Loser | 9/25/07

The two songs are part of a medley. They are always played together by disc jockeys as they are meant to be. The guy who posted the lyrics also posted the lyrics for 'With a little help from my friends' by themselves. Most Beatles fans associate the 2 songs as the opening medley for the album. Also, George can be heard prominently in backing vocals. With John being heard slightly.

isnt it one song with 2 parts? thats what i always thought, but then again im no beatles fanatic or anything. but i have never heard one part without the other.

I think it's better this way | Reviewer: Platypus | 7/9/07

Although these 2 songs are different, the first one is clearly an introduction to the second, the music doesn't sotp between. And it would be strange to stop the lyrics after the "let me introduce you...". He should just have mentionned that it was 2 songs combined in one.

dude. | Reviewer: smokeweed1984@hotmail.com | 6/28/07

dude who cares? Oh my fuckin god. hes not a BIG fan if he put the same exact fuckin lyrics into the same exact fuckin song but forgot to put that it was a lil help from my friends. wow. internet beatle junkies. a bunch of fuckin kooky cats.

Matt | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/26/07

It is two songs yet it is combined with the first. Load the cd onto your computer and you will see that.
