Sgt. Baker Lyrics
Artist(Band):Primus
Review The Song (4)Print the Lyrics
Sgt. Baker is my name
I'm gonna teach you how to play the game
of warfare
Suddenly it appears to me
You got a bit much dignity
For your own good, boy
Yes sir, yes sir.

I will rape your personality
Pummel you with my own philosophy
Strip you of your self-integrity
To make you all just a bit like me
I said right, left

Sgt. Baker here again
And if you calls me "puddin Taine"
I'll stomp you down, boy
Steers and Queers
Steers and Queers where you come
from there's just steers and queers
And you ain't got no horns, boy
Yes sir, yes sir

I will rape your personality
Pummel you with my own philosophy
Strip you of your self-integrity
To make you all just a bit like me
I said right, left

Amazing song by an amazing band. Pioneers of experimentation in modern "rock" bands. Bloody good.

Les Claypool is so awesome at bass. This is one of my fav's because of the bass and lyrics. But I have one question how does one rape a personality?

Yes Sir! | Reviewer: jake | 5/15/2007

I thought it was supposed to be a new look at Sgt. Baker from Full Metal Jacket - one of his most famous likes is "Texas, You're from Texas? Boy, only things in Texas are Steers and Queers and you ain't got no horns boy so what does that make you?"

Yes Sir!, Yes Sir! | Reviewer: Radle Vox | 12/9/2005

In my opinion this song brings to light Primus at their highest point. The slightly sarcastic and driving bass line, accompanied by an even harder drum beat, pull this into one of Les Claypool's finest works. Everything that we all love about Primus, the bassline that makes no sence, the busy drums and the guitarist going off on his own tanget, are all put into this song and is found all throughout the album. As for the lyrics. It is clear that they display the mis-conception of miliary life in America. It is as if Claypool is saying very sarcasticly "This is what it's really like...".
All in all, this song is easily one of my favourites and never stops me from shouting "Yes Sir!, Yes Sir!" along with it. 8/10.
