Seven Mary Three was born in 1992 when the two Jasons met
while attending William & Mary College in Virginia.
Initially, they performed as a duo with Ross singing,
Pollock playing guitar, and both writing music. Later, Giti
Khalsa and bassist Casey Daniel joined the fold, and the
foursome played coffeehouses and clubs throughout the
Southeast.

After releasing its first album, in 1994, the self-produced
"Churn," and getting airplay on an FM rock station in
Orlando for the "Cumbersome" single, the band relocated to

thats great, the right words are on the page almost 15 times just not where it counts. why would he say put it in a jar? which is one more syllable than his wording anyway or am i supposed to belive he wants to put the sun in there? or her glory? or maybe his ciggy? or is the freeway melting? i bet its none of that & i bet he says punch in punch out.

The meaning is fairly simple to decipher.

He is saying how him and his soon to be ex see things at opposite ends of the spectrum. He thinks their relationship can be fixed if they both can achieve a mutual understanding, or balance. She see's that their is no hope of reconciliation because things are too far gone. She has reached a point where she does not think the effort is worth the reward. In her eyes, he has become too heavy of a burden and too difficult to deal with. In other words, he has become cumbersome.

I would be willing to say that he probably did her wrong and though she was once willing to reconcile, she waited too long for him to come to his senses and she broke. So now he is realizing he should have tried sooner to correct things and wanting her more, while she is moving on and wanting him less.

I used to listen to this song in high school, god how I've missed them. WHY do great bands like Seven Mary Three, The Nixons, Sponge, etc fall off the face of the earth, and Nickelback rules the charts forever? It's not right!

This is definetly in the top five rock songs ever list. They easily get the emotion of the lyrics across and when you hear them sing it drives you to just burst out with all the anger they do. A song that does that is rare these.

I always thought the first line was "Because it's three songs home" and the other line is something like "And Alex is jolly" or "drawing" but that makes no sense in the context of the song. That's what I've always thought they were, never quite sure.

This is the first verse of the song. Where he's singing slow. But when the drums kick in and the song picks up tempo. The second verse is similiar to the first one with a few changes, but then there's another whole verse after that, that isn't even close to the same. But no one has those lyrics posted. So my question is, where's the rest of the lyrics?
