Serj was born in Lebanon, spent his early years there before his parents and his younger brother 'Sevag' moved to Los Angeles. In there, he joined "Rose & Alex Pilibosl" Armenian School, eventually started studies in marketing. Later Serj got a software company 'Ultimate Solutions". in the beginning of 90s Serj met Daron and started the new born band, called it 'Soil'. later renamed it to 'System of a Down'. Serj has a Husky and he loves New Zealand. he wanted to own large property as a studio to build over there but his intend was rejected in 2005, since New Zealand authorities saw there's no national use. "Don't you see their bodies burning? Desolate and full of yearning, Dying of anticipation, Choking from intoxication" to me means that their children minds are very impressionable but the government and religion tries to keep them down but can't hold them down all the way. Also "dying of anticipation" means is a hyperbole describing how ready and willing the children are, but the government and religion are plaguing their pure minds with propagande. i still dont understand the point of "empty walls" tho... The whole album (Elect the Dead) is awesome, but Sky is Over, Empty Walls and Saving Us are the best, if you ask me. Sky is Over has a beautiful melody, great guitarplay and of course Serj's powerful yet emotional voice.
