Review about Second Heartbeat bmth is better | Reviewer: cameron bmth > a7x | 10/23/09 A7X is a little mediocre. first of all dont just compare the covers bmth did. look at the music they actully wrote. the lyrics are sick. and its bit more of a chanlenge to sing Bmth songs which makes them seem better in my book. A7X is good and all but there songs sound mostly similar to one another. but i have to say A7X solos are nice. but thats not all im looking for. bmth is much better. Mostly because, hey, it's the original, and it's awesome. But one thing that bothers me is the Live in the LBC version is very much abridged. The entire interlude/breakdown that starts around 3:00 into the original recording and goes until about 4:45 into the song is completely abandoned in the LBC version. I mean, the live performance is still great, what with the solos and such, but leaving a part of the song out in my opinion is slightly inexcusable. What if Skynyrd cut the beginning of Free Bird out and just started with the "Fly high Free Bird", right into the solo? Compare their 'screamo skills' with other bands and they sound all over the place and childish. When it comes to listening to A7x in their prime.. wow. This does not sound like the Avenged Sevenfold I listen to but you can really see how they've grown.
