------ About the song Kiss From A Rose performed by Seal

This is a very beautiful song. This is how I interpret it..
"There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea..."
(The tower represents a man who is alone, depressed and hopeless...possibly heartbroken, untrusting of people. He withdrew his emotions and believed it was better to be alone than chance getting hurt again)
"You became the light on the dark side of me".
(A woman brought that dark side of him back to life...gave him new hope)
Love became a drug that's the high and not the pill..."
(Maybe before he met the woman he used sex as a form of love to numb his pain in his heart..it was his "pill" but with this woman love became the high..she healed him and completed him]
"But did you know that when it snows..."
(When everything is going wrong around him, when people are betraying him and he's at his lowest point...)
"My eyes become large..."
(He opens his eyes and becomes more cautious and aware)
"And the light that you shine can be seen.."
(He sees that she is true and he can trust her)
"Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose..."
(Roses represent beauty. In this song I believe the rose represents the womans heart. Her true love and acceptance of all of him, good and bad.)
"On the gray..."
(In the beginning of the song the grey represents his dark side. His cynysism toward women from having his heart broken- "kissed from a rose on the grey" her heart has touched that dark part of him...
"The more I get of you stranger it feels yeah..now that your rose is in bloom.."
(Her heart, the "rose"..has been challenged and tried, through all of the hardships she stayed true to him and didn't betray him..he watched her heart "bloom" through these trials..)
"A light hits the gloom on the gray..."
(The light is his hope that she awakened him to. He realises he's doesn'nt have to live alone in pain..he can trust her with his heart)

------ About the song Crazy performed by Seal

This sounds like a song about psychedelics. They can induce mystical/spiritual experience. He's saying the church is lacking that, and if violent people took psychedelics, they might not be fighting anymore. Hallucinations happen also in schizophrenia. For a long time people thought the drugs could model the disease. The don't quite, as far as I know. But I think the reference to getting "crazy" is about the drugs.

At the end of the movie BatMan Forever, only the
last part of this wonderful song is heard. I am
glad that I found the words to this song. I hard
time understanding them. I thought that Seal was
was saying I compare you to Kiss from a rose
on a grave. Thank you very much for the right words. Clemens Harmon

have you been kissed today?

Inhaling beauty you capture the essence. Working through your fingertips, vocal chords,...sweat, this vision becomes your power..your passion,...your pain!

Love remains..and in Seal's case..he describes for me, the love God has for us...he awakens us..to shine on. Thank you Seal..for sharing your kiss...your awakening.. : ) Now i am going to write about this song...

the meaning | Reviewer: Gary
------ About the song Kiss From A Rose performed by Seal

It obviously states the meaning of this song, LOVE. The rose represents himself, and the light represents the girl.
“There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea, You became the light on the dark side of me.”
It shows that before he’d seen her, he used to be graving in loneliness. She was there, yet he hadnt seen her.
“Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill” tells how the love has affected him, as a drug affects him become high, not only a pill which only reflect the physical of a drug.
“That when it snows, My eyes become large and, The light that you shine can be seen” At a time, he finally realized that she had been there for a long time.
“I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.” Shows he was comparing between his loneliness and after he saw her.
“And now that your rose is in bloom.” Shows he was so happy
“A light hits the gloom on the gray.” Fortunately, the girl also love him
“So much he can say. You remain, My power, my pleasure, my pain, baby” nothing to say xP
“To me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny.” This ensures that his dependency of the girl..
Isnt it obvious?

my take on it is... | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Crazy performed by Seal

"A man decides after seventy years
That what he goes there for
Is to unlock the door"

This says to me that we are all searching for more... to unlock the door... opening up for possibilities.

"While those around him criticize and sleep"

We've all been scathed by religion, so people see him as week and criticize him, all the while missing the larger picture, remaining in denial.. sleeping.

"Miracles will happen as we trip"

Life is a trip. Our reality... everything we see, experience with all our senses in this reality is a trip that contains many wonderful things beyond our conception. We are all on this trip together.

"Crazy are the people walking through my head
One of them got a gun to shoot the other one
And yet together they were friends at school"

The things we get caught up in that just don't matter... how easy it is for us to get distracted from the bigger picture.. our purpose here in this reality and the role other people play in our experience of life. Every hardship is an opportunity to grow, yet we somehow miss out on some of the simplest things.

"If all were there when we first took the pill
Then maybe then maybe then maybe then maybe
Miracles will happen as we speak"

The figurative "pill" that lead to our figurative "trip." Maybe those who are distracted by battling one another personally will remember we all went into this together... and that would be a miracle.

"But we're never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy"

The things mentioned above all sound "crazy" to anyone who isn't looking to "unlock the door." But also, how we have to act out in "crazy" ways in order to grow. We are all still children inside, no matter what our age and we must act out in order in learn... sometimes it can be quite crazy.

"In a sky full of people only some want to fly
Isn't that crazy
In a world full of people only some want to fly
Isn't that crazy"

A reference to all those who have lived before us and died-- only some of them wanted to "fly," meaning only some of them wanted to "unlock the door" and believed miracles were possible... seeking to actually fly, you are having faith that the impossible is possible.

Also, out of ALL of us on this Earth right now... only some of us wish to obtain more knowledge and it's absolutely unbelievable (crazy) that we all hold this potential, but only some of us come to realize it and seek to grow towards the "unknown" areas of life.. such as why am I here? what am I to do with this life? is there a natural force in this universe wanting me to make the best of myself during my short human life? how can I reach my maximum potential? This is "flying."

Also-- as a recovering alcoholic, this song means so much more to me right now than it did when I would hear the haunting beat on the radio as a child. I never knew the lyrics until today. So, on a even more personal note, I believe, "But we're never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy" also means literally what it says. In order to cope with traumatic events during our lifetime, especially our childhoods, we sometimes dissociate early on and later in life can seem a little "crazy," but it was absolutely literally necessary for our survival. Without this coping mechanism, we literally would die. So, today, I am thankful for my crazy moments because I know... I never would have survived otherwise. Thank you for reading.

my power, my pleasure, my pain | Reviewer: Maya
------ About the song Kiss From A Rose performed by Seal

"Obviously, the graying tower is a phallic symbol and refers to aging manhood. As in Jungian psychology, there is a shadow side we all possess. His new love is like a light on the dark side of me. This can be enlightening, but also may point out personality traits we are not accustomed to face (stranger each day) and best left in the shadow (or on the "dark" side of me). There are allusions to love as a drug, and "when it snows" is clearly a reference to cocaine, which also dilates the pupils (My eyes become large). His first wife has dies, he has a stalwart female friend who helps him through this, whom he now loves. But he feels guilty and buries his sorrow in drugs, esp. his new lover's love, the strongest drug of all. There are hints to necrophilia also."
i've never heard so many nonsense in my entire life!!!! you made the song sounds sick! god! this is a beautiful song and noone wants to search rubbish in it! becayse there is no rubbish! my boyfriend devoted this song to me, especially this line: "my power, my pleasure, my pain". when i hear him say that, "my eyes become large:)" i odore this song!:)))

------ About the song Amazing performed by Seal

I never write on these things, ever, but this song makes me want to. It is a beautiful song. I can relate to it so much because its hard to deal with your addictions and to come clean. And either people go unnoticed over how much of an accomplishment you've made or they drag it out overkill... so this song speaks to me so much.
