Say I Lyrics - Creed
Review The Song (6)
The dust has finally settled on the field of Human Clay
Just enough light has shown through
To tell the night from the day
We are incomplete and hollow
For our maker has gone away
Who is to blame?
We'll surely melt in the rain
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
The stillness is so lifeless with no spirit in your soul
Like children with no vision do exactly what they're told
Being led into the desert
For your strength will surely fade
Who is to blame?
We'll surely melt in the rain
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I
Frantic, faction, focus
The world breathes
And out forms this misconception we call man
But I don't know him
No, I don't know him
Because he lies..They lie
Say I, yeah
Say I, yeah
Say I, yeah
Say I, Say I
Say I, Say I

pretty good | Reviewer: Brittany | 10/17/11
yes, they mean god when they say maker and a lot of people believe that that is the truth. God has gone away from us when man sinned. I think they're talking about satan too. if you look at the world, i could believe that god has abandoned us because he lets half of the idiots in this world stay alive. i know better. i really can see how good this song is.

I believe the part of the song that says "The stillness is so lifeless with no spirit in your soul" means something a little bit different than your idea, Draco. My Bible teacher told me that the reason the Bible says we are made in the image of God, is because like Him, we are made up of three parts, the body, soul, and spirit. His three parts are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. When we (Adam and Eve) fell from righteousness, the spirit in them, and the rest of the future humanity, died. My teacher said that we are all born with a dead spirit, and the spirit part of us is what can communicate with God, and is "revived" when we get saved. Long explanation, I know, lol.
Regarding The Message | Reviewer: A Random Person | 12/29/07
Well, I highly doubt it's Satanic. Even if it is, it's an awesome song.
It kind of reminds me of the struggles in the Grapes of Wrath, truth be told.
And now for something entirely different-
the last stanza. They has some sort of overlapping lines type thing, and while it is very cool, I can't make out what the second (first, maybe?) voice is saying... Is it a repeat of 'The world breathes'?
Re: "Satanist !!?" | Reviewer: Draco | 9/7/07
Er... I don't think so.
I think this song refers a lot back to the Fall of Man - when "we" disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, and were separated from God - "Our maker has gone away."
"No spirit in your soul" most likely refers to a life without God; no Holy Spirit within you.
"Who is to blame?" We are. And "he" is (I believe, meaning Satan, who is the liar refered to in "Because he lies."
Clarification is wonderful, ain't it?
