Came to my mind during my divorce | Reviewer: Dave | 1/20/11

Feeling crushed and betrayed by my wife of 22 years after she filed for divorce, this song came playing in my mind, so I played it on my computer and realized that even though you may have made your marriage as good as Hollywood at some point, a wife can turn her back on you in the bad times. Then if you can't reason with her and she no longer responds to your love, you just have to "say goodbye" no matter how much it hurts and move on with your life.

This song in my opinion is tied to miami 2017 and New york state of mind, in fact if you think about it they all come in this sort of time line with miami 2017 coming first then say good bye to hollywood and finally new york state of mind. Miami 2017 shows how he misses new york and it's theatre and plaesures then it's almost as if hes saying" u know what screw it cause im a going back to new york" and that farwell comes in the form of say good bye to hollywood and thats exactly what hes doing, then hes so happy to get back into new york that he writes this song with a totally new beat and tempo called New york state of mind. All in all this song has a great performing history, hes eager to play it, the crowd's eager to be a part of it and i'm eager to hear it!
