Savory Truffle Lyrics
Artist(Band):The Beatles
Review The Song (5)Print the Lyrics
Creme tangerine and Montélimar
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart
A coffee dessert--yes you know it's good news
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

Cool cherry cream, nice apple tart
I feel your taste all the time we're apart
Coconut fudge--really blows down those blues
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

You might not feel it now
But when the pain cuts through
You're gonna know and how
The sweat is going to fill your head
When it becomes too much
You'll shout aloud

But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

You know that what you eat you are,
But what is sweet now, turns so sour--
We all know Obla-Di-Bla-Da
But can you show me, where you are?..

Creme tangerine and Montélimar
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart
A coffee dessert--yes you know its good news
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.
Yes, you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

Review about Savory Truffle

Savory Truffle | Reviewer: Jennifer Sue Milem | 6/20/2008

In the Iron Butterfly section, it was Jerry "The Bear" Penrod, not Allen Toussaint, but in the beatles section, it was "Savory Truffle" By John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

just another example of how excellent musical crescendo brings a normal song to a climatic ending, instant classic!!!!!!

sax section | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/26/2007

its actually not a brass section, its 4 tenor saxophones, 2 bass saxophones, they just distorted the sound

About Eric Claptons love of sweets | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/21/2007

The song is about Eric Clapton love of eating sweets and sugary selection boxes. His dentist said he'd have to have his teeth pulled out if he carried on indulging in them. "You'll have to have them all pulled out after the savoy truffle".

An odd sounding track, the brass sections seem odd, the guitar ultimate high gain - like dentist's drill?

Ir's very 70's, but it also one of the Beatles' lost treasures. It has a whymsical sound, and a touch of disco.
