Save Me Lyrics - Shinedown

Review The Song (9)

I got a candle
And I've got a spoon
I live in a hallway with no doors
And no rooms

Under a windowsill
They all were found
A touch of concrete within the doorway
Without a sound

Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland

How did I get here
And what went wrong
Couldn't handle forgiveness
Now I'm far beyond gone

sponsored links
I can hardly remember
The look of my own eyes
How can I love this a life so dishonest
It made me compromise

Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland

Jump in the water
Jump in with me
Jump on the altar
Lay down with me

The hardest question to answer
Is why

Why

Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me if you can
From my blasphemy in my wasteland

Someone save me
Someone save me
Somebody save me
Somebody save me
Please don't erase me

I think this song has saved many lives | Reviewer: kairi | 7/22/11

I don't struggle with addiction myself, but i struggle with the addiction of many members of my family and my friends.
in response to the person who brought up religion i can see where youre coming from but I see the metaphors as directly referencing addiction and not religion. For example, I felt that the line "jump in the water. jump in with me" referred to thrill seeking behavior the intoxication of jumping into a situation with abandon...even when you know you're in over your head. and the bravery that comes with having friends to jump off a bridge with.
I feel that the line "jump on the altar. lay down with me" is symbolic of addicts who want someone with them when they lay on a sacrificial altar. because if someone is with them its easier for them to tell themselves their okay.
i love this song so much, even though it hurts sometimes to listen to it. I think its brought about an increased awareness of drug addiction both among the general populace and to addicts themselves who have realized their problem was out of control.

don't be fool addiction is a very powerful thing and even more powerful when you are trying to over come it

I struggle with alcohol and the biggest problem i am dealing with is how much I like but yet I really hate it, it's all confusing so don't ask me to explain it I can't

the hardest question to answer is why, WHY?

I agree there is an element of religion. To some drugs are their answers their drug of choice. I love how the christains think that shinedown is an alternative rock band for them. The group is selling to an audience that will listen. They are the nest super rock group and a sound that will last for decades. Move over Creed.

Save Him | Reviewer: Jess | 10/17/07

I had a friend that I met while he was in rehab he had a really bad addiction and he always told me that "Save Me" was his son when he got outta Rehab he stayed clean for about 8months. Long story short I'm not gunna erase him I'm gunna take away all those pills. I'm his opey instead of OC's

A kick in the crotch. | Reviewer: C2 | 6/27/07

This song is brutally heartfelt. I'm currently struggling with an addiction and I have seen nights that match up identically to the scene described...it's creepy in a good way.

Look I dont know how much of a religious group of guys they are, but to me a lot of their songs seem to have alittle of that kind of element to them. especially this song. To me it seems like hes admitting that hes done a lot of bad things like drugs and lieing and stuff like that and hes asking to be saved. I think that the religious element is extremely obvious in the part of the song when its saying "jump in the water..." thats straight out of the bible when Jesus walked on water and i think it was paul or someone, i blanked on the name, didnt believe it and so he asked him to jump in. and also "jump on the alter and and lay with me" so what i get from that is lay down and ask him to save you and forgive you. I might be getting this out of the song because im a strong believer in Christianity, but thats what I get of it.
