It was during the cold, short days at the start of 2006
that Sandi Thom had her Eureka! moment. Instead of driving
to gigs up and down the country with her band in her
clapped-out car, as she had done for years, the singer from
Scotland resolved to try a different approach. She bought a
webcam, and announced a run of 21 shows to be performed on
consecutive nights during February and March in the
basement of her flat in Tooting, South London. The audience
capacity in the flat itself was limited to just six people.
But the half-hour shows were to be broadcast, free of
charge, via her website at www.sandithom.com. The first
night, 70 people tuned in to watch, the next night it went
up to 670. And by the middle of the second week she was
performing to a peak audience More...

------ About the song I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair) performed by Sandi Thom

wake up! punk rockers don't have flowers in their hair. i have seen lots of punk rockers, personaly i listen to punk all the time, you know what i have in my hair? well, not flowers. mohawk+flower= >:( it isn't punk to have flowers in your hair, and i have never seen a punk rocker with flowers in his/her hair.
69' no!!! worng genre of music people.

Surely a song that takes us all back somewhere too.. | Reviewer: Pauline
------ About the song Sunset Borderline performed by Sandi Thom

I love this song, with a bitter/sweet feeling, which I think is what is intended. Many people must be listening to it and thinking, "Oh yes, that was us" I can feel the sun's warmth just listening to it.

Reminds me of days I spent with someone so very dear to me. Had'nt seen him for a while. A local musician & songwriter himself, he died a few days before Christmas.

So with this song and many more, I'll be thinking of you, dear Jamie X

SANDI THOM - MIS-HEARD LYRICS?? | Reviewer: Pauline
------ About the song Lonely Girl performed by Sandi Thom

I really like all the songs on the Smile It Confuses People album, and this one's very descriptive and conjures up a vivid picture of the figure in it. HOWEVER - Whoever put the lyrics down for it on here may have misheard them a bit. Surely it's "Oh what a lonely girl"...

Also does'nt it sound more like: She can captivate you with her eyes, but she'll never let you in" Does that make more sense to anyone???
