Sail To The Moon Lyrics - Radiohead
Review The Song (29)
I sucked the moon
I spoke too soon
And how much did it cost
I was dropped from
And sailed on shooting stars
But know right from wrong
Or in the flood
You'll build an Ark
And sail us to the moon
Sail us to the moon
Sail us to the moon
Sail us to the moon

There's no musical magician out there who could put together a sheet music for the singing? Would be lovely.
If you know of any already, please inform me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks on advance!
The Meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/13/11
This album had a deeply political theme to it. This song in particular is about uncertainty in what was the current political landscape at the time: George Bush in office, 9/11, a war starting. As another person said, the person Thom is talking about is his son, and how the uncertain times worried him.
I love radiohead but... | Reviewer: dkram | 5/22/11
I really do love Radiohead and I understand all the praise they're getting. But what's with all the ingrained hate for other music genres. Each to their own, I mean hell, even Thom Yorke listens to dubstep(another one of my loves :D ). Just enjoy each artist for what they are.
mmmm | Reviewer: calvitoast | 12/16/10
best music ever. anyone who says anything negative about radiohead should go take their lady gaga albums and jump off a bridge with them. also please drown while you are at it as you are wasting all the good oxygen with your inbred emo fag lungs. ;)
Wonderful!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/17/10
Radiohead does something no other band will be able to do. They put so much depth to every song, there lyrics are stunning and I love the way they don't write crappy love songs and they won't make a song just to be catchy. That's not what they're about unlike other musicians. There sounds unique and yet they manage to make each song so different from the next. There's a reason why they are so huge and why they have influenced a lot of bands. Thoms voice is like no other voice and he uses it brilliantly. I adore each song they made so much. There lyric meanings are so far from other bands, I find radiohead so interesting. You can tell they put so much into their music. I have to admit at first I didn't get it to this extent.. I mean I thought they sounded really cool but after a few listens to all their albums and watching interviews of what their music is all about then I realized they are the best band in exsitance. People who have something bad to say about them obviously have no idea what depth these songs have and they obviously haven't gave a long enough listen. They are incredible, changes my whole perspective on music. They are everything a band should be and so much more. Yet nobody can even begin to mimic. Amazing stuff.

can anyone help me understand the lyrics?
i totally fail to interpret...
...the song is beautiful in it's harmonies and Thom Yorke's voice is just incredible, speaking against those facts only reveals stupidity and a lack of being able to judge objectively.
Changed my life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/12/10
I listen primarily to Hip hop and R&B, and I happened to stumble across Radiohead performing 15 Steps from there I researched every album they have ever made and I'm blessed by it. For the last two months I can't listen to anything else. They have changed my whole thought process on what music is and can be. The transcend a musical genre, they are simply art. Amazing.
what gives power to music. | Reviewer: DavidPriest | 3/7/10
It would appear to us all that it is rather the meaning that is more influencial upon us than the rest of the musical components. the voice, instrumentals and etc are but factors that edifies a song to a suitable taste for a favourable class of listeners.RADIOHEAD has went perhaps beyond music, to me, what they produce is of unmeasurable celestial meaning. they're wonderful!
Hail to Thom York | Reviewer: TJ | 2/15/10
This track is among the best tracks on Hail to the Thief. Whenever I hear Thom sing "sail us to the moon" I feel like I am lifted and carried away by the tone. Whatever reason Thom, Johnny and Colin wrote this album, It changed my idea on music. "Kid A" was my life-saver, followed by "Hissing Fauna, are You the Destroyer?" as they changed my idea on what music really is. Seriously, I listened to Billy Talent before them.
I also recommend:
- "Quaristice" by Autechre
- "Satanic Panic in the Attic" by Of Montreal
- "Teen Dream" by Beach House
honestly, radiohead fails. are you serious? | Reviewer: torii | 2/6/10
the one who wrote the post "honestly, radiohead fails." has no ear for REAL music. Go back to your fucking wimpy ass music. Radiohead, as well as Thom Yorke have made music the way it should be. His voice is fucking amazing, and the boys behind him (jonny, colin, and phil) do a good job as well. They hit every key in their unique music. So, if you don't like what you're hearing why don't you just find something "better" to listen to, instead of rant about how you think Thom Yorke does what you do in your spare time trying to sound as good as him. You fucking cunt. Radiohead has more talent than you will ever grasp onto. And you sound like Chris Martin, all jealous of how big Radiohead and Thom Yorke are, and you and your pussy band Coldplay won't ever be as genius as them.
Maybe you should listen to Street Spirit (Fade Out) and tell me how sucky Radiohead is.
Thom Yorke's voice | Reviewer: anilsghost | 10/22/09
i love Yorke's voice. (i'm not surprised he himself doesn't like it. he's a depressive--he probably hates everything he does. :( but i think it's perfectly imperfect and just right for Radiohead's music. his wail just goes straight to my belly every time---so much passion and pain in every note.
yeah i know the meaning | Reviewer: obed gloria | 10/2/09
i think this was hail to the thief album right yeah well he(thom yorke)wrote this for his son(noah)because he was un sure of his sons future and i personaly like this song because i love space and its mystery and this song portays the mystery of space but thats my opinion
I agree with the guy below my post... | Reviewer: Charlie | 10/2/09
I've also read Thom Yorke's quotes saying that he would like his voice to be different. In any case, he always uses different tones in Radiohead's albums. Compare 2+2=5, Sulk and A Wolf at the Door. They sound completely different...
Most of these comments are just opinions, so don't give much importance to those ignorants and drug addicts. Their point of view is completely wrong and influenced by prejudices.
To the clamped balls comment from forever ago... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/9/09
Hahaha, the dude who said the clamped balls thing is clearly out of his god damn mind and has ZERO knowledge of music. Like, where did that out of key comment come from??? Anyone who has ears and has touched an instrument would know that he is clearly never out of key on album (and from first hand experience surely fucking isn't live either). I wouldn't go as far to say that he is the heart and soul of the band, seeing as all their music is a balanced, collective input, but he is definitely the driving force and the passion within the group. Lastly, just in case that moron ever re-reads his comment and sees this reply: as for the clamped balls thing.... it's called the falsetto register, a difficult to control and a unique facet utilized by Yorke, rarely found in popular singers these days. It's surely something you'll never be able to do.
And just so you know, he's admitted to wishing his voice sounded different in an interview before. But, obviously, besides practicing his current voice to the best of his abilities, there's nothing he can do about it. (Sort of like how there's nothing you can do about your complete idiocy).
Give it your own meaning | Reviewer: Vale | 7/6/09
I agree, Radiohead's music is amazing, but Thom Yorke's "dark" lyrics are there for a reason, and he has his own reasons, but because of that it's not that you should just abandon yourself to the music..forever!. When you feel like it, think about these words and give them your own meaning, because every song of this band is made for it. (or I'd like to think they are). Such a great song =). [and sorry for the bad english...!]
