Elton John Sad Lyrics

Last updated: 07/08/2012 11:00:00 AM

I used to know this old scarecrow
My joy and sorrow.
Cast alone between the furrows
No longer sown by anyone.

Sad, so sad. Sad, so sad.

Beneath these branches
I once wrote such childish words for you.
I held a dandelion
When summer burned the earth again.

Sad, so sad. Sad, so sad. [x2]

No longer sown by anyone.

Sad, so sad. Sad, so sad. [x3]

The track - out July 16 - serves as the second release from their 'Elton vs. Pnau' project, which sees them reworking a number of Sir Elton John's classic hits from the 1970s into entirely new songs.

'Sad' includes elements of 'Nice and Slow', 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word', 'Friends', 'Curtains' and 'Crazy Water'.

The band's full-length album also includes previous song 'Good Morning To The Night', as well as 45 other samples across the eight tracks.

Pnau - who gained recognition under their side project Empire of the Sun - recently debuted a remix of 'Good Morning To The Night' exclusively on Digital Spy. Listening to sound please visiting http: //www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a386853/elton-john-pnau-debut-new-single-sad-listen.html
