Sacred Life Lyrics - Disturbed

Review The Song (13)

My conviction is stronger today
As I fight to uncover your sacred lie
And the fear isn't going away
As the soldiers still die
Let your followers know that their lives have been sold
For the good of your sacred lie
For the truth to be told
And the plan to unfold
We must start asking why

Don't you know the war is far from over now
What a stumbling block we've fallen over now
As our brothers die defending no one
The war is far from over now

Liberation, a moral charade
For the cause is a part of your sacred lie
Damnation a moment away in all the world's eyes
sponsored links
It's the doom of us all
We give in to control for the sake of your sacred lie
Complications abound
You'll get used to the sound of alarms in your life

Don't you know the war is far from over now
What a stumbling block we've fallen over now
As our brothers die defending no one
The war is far from over now

Give us a moment of peace in our lifetime
A moment of peace in our lifetime
Give us a moment of peace in our lifetime
A moment of peace in our lifetime
Give us a moment of peace in our lifetime
A moment of peace in our lifetime
Give us a moment of peace in our lifetime
A moment of peace right
NOW!

Don't you know the war is far from over now
What a stumbling block we've fallen over now
As our brothers die defending no one
The war is far from over now

Don't you know the war is far from over now
What a stumbling block we've fallen over now
As our brothers die defending no one
The war is far from over now

The Sacred Lie | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/15/11

The sacred lie is exactly everything you see on tv whether it's about muslim extremists or war it's all lies just made to serve a greater purpose that sometimes is Fuel or eliminating another opponent so yes ppl are just dying whether they r Americans, Arabs, Afghanis & etc just for those self-righteous SOBs who would bring misery and suffering to the whole world just to keep it under control

Defending no-one? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/14/11

Well if you send troops over to kill people because they killed 3,900+ people in 9/11 you aren't defending anyone because the 3,900+ are already dead, you can't defend someone if their already dead. In fact what you would call that is revenge.

I agree, we should just get the heck out of the Middle East and save the lives that may be taken there. I'm not saying that our soldiers are dying for no one, but I do believe that we should have ended this feud years ago. I say we don't let Muslims into the country, but we have a freaking Muslim as president! Pathetic. This is a very awesome song by the way.

"stupid as hell"?"defending no one LIES"? | Reviewer: Platinum63 | 1/19/10

maybe the song isn't based on 911 alone, or 911 at all, maybe it's based on other wars, of your country, of mine, or maybe, it's jsut based on war in general, disturbed tends to make songs based on war in this album, is the song ten thousand fists based on your war?, is indestructible?

dont judge disturbed with your pathetic insight, judgemental prick

As a captain in the Canadian Armed Forces I have served several tours of duties in Afghanistan. I do know that what we are doing over there is saving lives of men and boys who would otherwise be drafted to support extremist groups. We are not perfect but with some of the aid work and helping protect local populations while they are rebuilding their houses. They often come up and thanks us after. They are good people. They do not need to be fought. I don't agree with everything my government says but overall the job is doing what they are saying.

Huh? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/22/09

"...our troops were sent over to kill the bastards that killed 3,900+ people"

How would sending troops overseas help make up for 9/11? The attack on that day was planned and executed to perfection by the C.I.A. Osama Bin Laden did indeed engineer the attack. He was a known C.I.A. asset that helped to fuel the Military Industrial Complex through terror attacks in the Middle East during the 1980s.

Damn Straight: Defending No One | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/13/08

"So what they are saying is that the fact that after 9/11 happened, when our troops were sent over to kill the bastards that killed 3,900+ people, that we werent defending anybody what so ever? Wow.. stupid as hell."

Good job on slapping together the general American ignorance into a nicely summed-up package. Iraq was long-ago proven to have had no involvement in the events of 9/11. We sent troops there to "quell extremist uprising" or some BS like that. In other words, we're no better than those responsible for 9/11. The civilian death toll of Iraq alone as an outcome of the "War on Terror" completely dwarfs the number of Americans killed on 9/11, who, might I add, had no less of a reason to die than the innocents of the Middle-Eastern nations who perished throughout the resulting conflict, where it all boils down to one idea: wrong place, wrong time. It's now been six years, going on seven, with a colossal debt on the US's part and minimal-to-no results in terms of this vendetta the Bush Administration once attempted to justify, and we're just now deciding to withdraw the stationed forces as Bush recedes from Presidency. It's about f***ing time. No one is being defended by this blood feud; all we've managed to do is piss off many people and elicit anti-American sentiment in the minds of many more, neither of which are going to help us in the long-run.

So true | Reviewer: Deshra D. Dine | 7/21/07

Yes its Sacred LIE. Why cant people who make lyrics websites use the paper jacket inside the cd for atleast the song titles.
Anyway. THis song is so true, Im a US Army Veteran and my brothers and sisters are still out there fighting a fight that didnt need to be fought to the extent that it has.

Wrong Title | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/9/07

This song is supposed to be called Sacred LIE, not Sacred Life. Check the album cover for the hell of it.
