High noon
Oh I'd sell my soul for water
Nine years' worth
Of breakin' my back
There's no sun in the shadow of the wizard
See how he glides
Why he's lighter than air
Oh I see his face
Where is your star
Is it far, Is it far, is it far
When do we leave
I believe, yes, I believe
* In the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
So many die
We built a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
Just to see him fly
Don't know why
Now where do we go
Hot wind moving fast across the desert
We feel that our time has arrived
The world spins while we put his wing together
A tower of stone to take him straight to the sky
Oh I see his face
Where is your star
It is far, is it far, is it far
When do we leave, yeah
I believe, I believe
*
All eyes see the figure of the wizard
As he climbs to the top of the world
No sound as he falls instead of rising
Time standing still
Then there's blood on the sand
Oh I see his face
Where was your star
Was it far, was it far
When did we leave
We believe, we believe, we believe
In the heat and rain
With whips and chains
To see him fly
So many die
We built a tower of stone
With out flesh and bone
To see him fly
But why, it don't rain
With all our chains,
Did so many die
Just to see him fly
Look at my flesh and bone
Now look, look, look, look
Look at this tower of stone
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home
Coming home, I'm coming home
Time is standing still
He gave me back my will
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Going home
I'm going home
My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is weeping
We still hope, we still hope, oh
Take me back
He gave me back my will
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Going home
I'm going home
My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is weeping
We still hope, we still hope, oh
Take me back, take me back
Back to my home, oh, oh...

Review about STARGAZER LoTR | Reviewer: stahr | 12/20/08
My guess is this is a song inspired by the Lord of the Rings; Gandalf's imprisonment at the top of Saruman's tower, his fall onto an Eagle's back and/or in Moria with the balrog, his return from Moria as a white wizard; and how he inspired the heros to fight the enemies, Saruman (lesser enemy) and Sauron (greater enemy)
A song about the Antichrist? I've heard some people interpret it as a song about Hitler, and the following song "A Light in the Back" as a song about Germans going home after the war. "Did he really let us go...."
Yes I think so. Thanks for giving the feedback. There is a lot written about this song but nothing about the lyric content. Maybe it is Dio's voice but the song has had me entranced ever since i heard it.
what i think | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/16/07
of course it is.the wizard wanted to reach the sky.he's kinda crazy and powerful tyrant obsessed by this idea.they are all his slaves and awe him and build a tower for him.he was kinda tyranical father for them- like in some religions (and fashism too)that's what i understand.i think that the slaves kinda take it to heart too - that "where is your star" sounds quite sympathetic.overmore i always thought- "i believe i believe" what does he believe in?!i think they felt as a part of a whole-and together they will do the greatest deed, and they took all these pains for the cause-something like the tower of babel(and it ends much the same way),and when the wizard falled down it "gave them back their will"and they had to face the world ,realized they wasted their time and had to make their way to home.but i think that the song is basically about the wizard and his crazy dream and his star.
Cuz we all have stars and bild our castles in the sky.See - what a deep meaning. And it is a nice tale too.And generally nice song. And nice all.Right?Did i get it?
I have not heard any discussion on these lyrics.
I love the song but the lyrics sound like its about cult ledership, "He gave me back our will" and etc. Does anybody else share these thoughts ?
