SOS Lyrics
Performed by AbbaReview The Song (4)
Where are those happy days, they seem so hard to find
I tried to reach for you, but you have closed your mind.
Whatever happened to our love
I wish I understood
It used to be so nice, it used to be so good
So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me
SOS
The love you gave me, nothing else can save me
SOS
When you're gone (when you're gone)
How can I even try to go on
When you're gone (when you're gone)
Though I try how can I carry on
You seem so far away though you are standing near
You made me feel alive, but something died I fear
I really tried to make it out
I wish I understood
What happened to our love, it used to be so good
So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me
SOS
The love you gave me, nothing else can save me
SOS
When you're gone (when your gone)
How can I even try to go on
When you're gone (when your gone)
Though I try how can I carry on
So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me
SOS
And the love you gave me, nothing else can save me
SOS
When you're gone (when you're gone)
How can I even try to go on
When you're gone (when you're gone)
Though I try how can I carry on
When you're gone (when you're gone)
How can I even try to go on
When you're gone (when your gone)
Though I try how can I carry on

OMG...does this ever bring back memories | Reviewer: Mark E. | 7/9/10
Loved Abba back then (I was only 14 in '75) and still do, some 35 years later. I especially love this song, both the music and lyrics -- the melody and instrumental accompaniment in the minor key just adds to the strong emotion of the words.
Today, this song (sadly) reminds me of the girl who was the love of my life back then (Dawn K., from the summer of '79 to the summer of '81) and the single biggest mistake of my life back then was in letting her go...

I still love this song | Reviewer: Mark E. | 7/9/10
Loved Abba back then (I was only 14 in '75) and still do, some 35 years later. This was probably my favorite -- I especially love both the music and lyrics to this song. The predominantly minor key adds such strong emotion behind the words.
Today, this song reminds me of the girl who was the love of my life a few years after this song came out (Dawn K., from the summer of '79 to the summer of '81) and also of the single biggest mistake of my life back then in letting her go...

NOSTALGIA PLUS!! | Reviewer: Jim Fisher | 8/21/09
I first heard this song back in 1975, when I was 26 years old and a graduate student in the Master of Fine Arts Program at Wichita State University.
Now -- at age 60 -- I hear this "Golden Oldie" song on the radio at least once a week...sometimes twice...and it always brings back a wash of memories: my three-day car trip out to Kansas...all the fascinating people I met...the tours I took around the midwest...the good times I had...a girl named Sue (you get the idea).
I don't know entirely why...perhaps the reason is buried in my subcortex somewhere...but I think SOS by Abba (both the melody and the lyrics) is one of the most wonderful songs I've ever heard -- definitely my TOP SONG of the seventies -- even 34 years later.
I think that says a lot!
