I, As many of you, can relate to this song. We live everyday, making choices and many times we stop n question if we made the right ones. Never knowing the answer of why we are here on this Earth and not knowing what choices to make to better our lives. Some choices are hard to make, even though we feel in our hearts that its the right thing to do. I love all of Godsmack's music but Running Blind is by far one of my favorites.

Every song has different meaning to different people cause of their own experience.
This is very good song written with few words but it says so much. To me it's a realistic portrait of self-conscious man. It's about vision of a better version of ourselves and giving trust and confession to people who don't understand us. Every change seems so close but there's that tiny lack of energy that keeps us from making the change to a better way and the fact that we are aware of our failures, hurts even more.

I grew up when Godsmack was being played more on the radio. I recently re-discovered them, and I've come to love them the same way I love Alice In Chains--the lyrics actually speak to me. No other song by them suits me and what I'm going through better than this one. I suffer from major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, and Running Blind is exactly the kind of song I would write if I were a little more creative. It lets me know that I'm not alone in my pain and my fear, and that I'm not the only one trying to survive in this world spending every day in agony and torture. Knowing that I'm not alone in this world and in how I feel is a relief.

My 26 year old son passed away a month ago...he had this song on his Myspace account because it depicted very well what he was going through after 2 tours in Iraq and being involved in 2 IED incidents. He was trying hard to make it all the way back, but struggled with self medicating. He was a great soul and that's what will be remembered.

Many people does not see that usually we follow doctrines and religions with blindfolded eyes. This song shows that we should always search for something and never follow any idea with consideration.

The song shows the inner conflict going on in the singer's mind.we can relate this song to our lives as well.each one of us goes through this time when we dont know what we're doing and question our own existence. its like "running blind" in this meaningless world.
The song is the quintessential example of a confused,helpless,desolate mind.It portrays how we all are dishonest inside.its like we can lie on the outside and masquerade our motives but when we stand in front of the mirror we know who we are.we cant lie to the image we see in front of us and the guilt kills us!
