Roundabout Lyrics - Yes

Review The Song (5)

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

The music dance and sing
They make the children really ring
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

I will remember you
Your silhouette will charge the view
Of distance atmosphere
Call it morning driving thru the sound and even in the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land
Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land
The eagle's dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand

Go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand
Next to your deeper fears we stand surrounded by a million years

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
Twenty four before my love and I'll be there

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out
You spend the day your way
Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

Simply Brilliantly Beautiful Elegance | Reviewer: Paul | 3/8/14

Yes is a true believers panoramic view of dualism and metaphoric irony wrapped up in a mercurial journey!

Seriously, I love their music. So try not to make sense of what was never meant to make sense to begin with! Just enjoy the multi-layered multi-faceted aural experience!

I used to love yes... | Reviewer: Alex DeLarge | 11/27/13

... until I realized their lyrics have no meaning and their music is just noise. Except for maybe "mood for a day", they have nothing worth listening to. 'Mountains come out of the sky'- really?!?! they just stand there. bleck. how vomitorious.

Great Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/15/11

This band is one of the best I've heard. Some of you new listeners are new to progressive rock, and let me tell you, don't bother trying to find a meaning in the lyrics. Progressive rock tells a story. SOME bands do include a meaning in their songs, but you really have to listen to the tone and the song itself. I am under the age of 15, yet i love this band to death. Another great band to listen to is Genesis, years 1972-75, which is where Peter Gabriel leaves the band. PInk Floyd is progressive as well by the way.

Progressive Rock Legend | Reviewer: Golden | 10/27/09

Yes is a classic rock/ progressive rock band that has major talent. From the first time I heard this song I fell in love with them. I am only fifteen but I have been listening to Yes for many years now. This is one of the single best songs ever. I would go so far as to say that the album Fragile is best album I have heard. Best band ever tied with Zeppelin, and Floyd.

Best Wishes,
Golden

Favourite piece | Reviewer: James | 1/24/09

This is the first popular piece of music I ever heard, played at the end of a planetarium visit to Michigan State in 1972.

The overdubs, the brilliant work on guitar and synthesizer, and the timeless lyrics that make little sense still have me going to Yes concerts now.

If you have been in another galaxy and missed this classic piece of Progressive Rock, get a copy and play it! Over and over! I have worn out several vinyl records of its album "Fragile," thank goodness for CDs.
