------ About the song Levelland performed by Robert Earl Keen
This is a marvelous song. Anyone who has ever spent some time in small-town Texas can recognize a lot here. But one quibble: this wasn't written by Robert Earl Keen. The song is actually by James McMurtry, though Keen does a great performance of it.

------ About the song Ride performed by Robert Earl Keen
one of the best guys to come around in a long time. i am amazed he has not got any bigger than what he has. people dont listen to what songs have to say anymore. the John Prine days are gone. its a britney spears and back street boys kinda society... sad really. says a lot for the average IQ of the population.

------ About the song Levelland performed by Robert Earl Keen
I'm a Texan who's not from West Texas but lived there (Odessa) for several years and who now drives through Levelland periodically. Not only is the town named appropriately, Keen (as is so often the case) nails not only the feeling of the landscape but the culture of the people, all in a completely enjoyable tune. An often-overlooked gem.
Great song! The lyrics are interesting, scary, chaotic. Sort of a prohibition feel to me but also very much of our times. Aesop meets Animal Farm. Andrea S. Garrett

------ About the song Maria performed by Robert Earl Keen
Somebody just gave me this album, West Textures, he tought I might like it as I truly love ballads. Wasn't he right ! This is the third day I have the album and I am totally addicted to it. Maria is a beautiful love song, lyrics and music equaly appealing. I want to close my eyes and listen to it like that and imagine, but not a good idea when you are driving.... I am from Europe but have been here for a number of years, how come I never heard of Robert Earl Keen before.... ?

------ About the song The Road Goes On Forever performed by Robert Earl Keen
Robert Keen is a true American wordsmith in the tradition of Willie, Waylon and the Boys. The Road goes on Forever is a real heartland classic that will live on in my heart as well as others. Johnny Cash would be proud. No phonies here like Big N Rich!
