RITES OF SPRING were together from March 1984 to January
1986. They became known for their intense live shows; the
images of strewn flowers, broken guitars and toppled drum
kits at the end of their shows became reknowned.
Guy Picciotto's energy as the singer in the band, which is
still experienced in seeing his performances in FUGAZI,
catapulted the listener deep throught the tumultuous vortex
of the music to some other place.

Their self-titled album was recorded in February 1985, and
the single in January 1986. Included on the CD and cassette
(Dischord 16) is the extra track 'Other Way Around', which
