Seether Remedy Lyrics

Last updated: 02/21/2014 06:48:11 PM

Throw your dollar bills and leave your thrills all here with me
And speak but don't pretend I won't defend you anymore you see
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for you
My eyes don't need to see that ugly thing, I know it's me you fear
If you want me hold me back

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "you'll be the death of me"

I don't need a friend, I need to mend so far away
So come sit by the fire and play a while, but you can't stay too long
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for pleasure
I see my heart explode, it's been eroded by the weather here
If you want me hold me back

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

Hold your eyes closed, take me in
Hold your eyes closed, take me in

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

I remember when Seether first appeared and were sited as being the 'next Nirvana'.

I'd take that as a compliment.

Being a fan of Nirvana myself I see the same style evolving here, but I don't see a copy. That's like saying everyone who writes a murder-mystery is just copying someone who wrote a similar style before they did..

Seether leaves their songs ambiguous for a reason - you take from their music what you take from their music.

Their success is a testament to their talent and to how many people can relate to their work, not their ability to copy the shape and form of somebody else's work. After all, one does not simply 'copy' Nirvana.

Just my thoughts....

i feel that they have mimicked nirvana and kurt a bit but either way what difference does it matter, they're where they're at because alot of people obviously love them, and hell i'd copy someone a bit to get close to the top also, ithink anyone would, you do what you have to do to be successful in life.

well the lyrics remind me of some of the things kurt wrote
and the playing style is def a mimic
er mimmic
what i meant was, this song says evil psycho ex but i was then thinking of nirvana so
you see the results

seriously? | Reviewer: rc | 7/3/10

ok all of u guys r wasting ur breath...both bands rock lets leave it at that. seether refuses 2 tell listeners what their songs r about so it leaves them guessin n lets them take em as they see it. theyre all incredibly talented n it doesnt take starting fights with random people on the internet 2 figure that out. yeesh.

Um.. YEAH, | Reviewer: Kyle | 6/2/10

First of all, Kurt Cobain once said "Pretending to be someone else is a waste of the person you are."
Im not saying the guy is ripping off Kurt... but didnt he pose for pictures in that freddy krouger sweater Kurt once did? Didnt he dye his hair the same maroon red Kurt did?
Theres no doubt Nirvana had a great impact on them, but he's "carrying the torch" a little to hard. I read he just checked into rehab not to terribly long ago.
Just look at the lyrics "The pain will never fail" - ripping off "you know youre right"
"clip the wings that get you high" - ripping off "polly"
look the lyrics up if you dont believe me...

What??? | Reviewer: Rye | 4/14/10

Ok first of all I really don't think that Seether is trying to copy Nirvana although they might have been influenced by them. Yet just because Nirvana cant make music anymore doesn't mean that anyone has to get over them? Nirvana was a great band and should recognized for it. Keep in mind that without Nirvana Dave Grohl probably wouldn't of even had the chance to make the Foo Fighters which is also a great band, although to me I like Nirvana better. And WTF is a "whinny self loathing bag of downs" Kurt never thought of himself like that. In fact he was mad when Smells Like Teen Spirit became so famous because he believed he sold out on his true fans. And don't even mention that life sucking bitch Courtney Love who only wants fame and money.

Meaning | Reviewer: Mike | 3/6/10

This song is about heroin. It's about being unable to see that life is real and beautiful. He sees only ugliness and pain. Giving himself a shot of heroin is the "remedy" for being unable to see the beauty and reality of life.

Life is real.

if you think seether sounds like nirvana then your a complete retard, the bassist is better in seether, drumming goes to nirvana, guitar...kinda equal -at least in my opinion- lyrics, voice different morgans voice is more deeper than cobain's but listen to unplugged, cobains voice is awesome -another one of my opinions- lyrics... i'd have to say cobain he was more of a lyricist than morgan both great band nothing bad to say about either of them so laters pplz

a missheard.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/22/08

when i hear this song for the first time i thougt it was an old from nirvan's rock ...but then i relized that the cd put in a player was entitled as "seether", so i think to myself ..."what a stupid girl".... well then if you ask me about what i think or feel about it.. i really like this song! it rocks! yeah baby!

No rip off! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/8/08

Hey assclowns, these guys are ligit. Nirvana is done. Let's here your songs dick. It's time to get over Nirvana.....the Foos are a much better band musically. Although I believe Nirvana was a great band and Cobain has made a deep impact on an original sound...he was a whiny self loathing bag of downs...look who he married, 'nuff said.

I have had this song on 'Because of Me' (the song before it on the album) stuck in my head allllllll day! I love the chorus the most. It is such a good song. The songs on Karma & Effect are much more agro than on Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces. Although...FBINS is also a very good cd. SEETHER ROCK! I LOVE THEM!

blatant ripoff! | Reviewer: Scott | 9/5/08

This band is not "carrying on the torch" of Kurt Cobain, they are a BLATANT ripoff of Nirvana. I mean really, could they try any harder to copycat Nirvana's style of music and ESPECIALLY Cobain's voice?? I don't think so. What a bunch of posers! If it was really just coincidental that this guy's voice sounds like Kurt Cobain's it would be acceptable, but it's obvious that he's trying as hard as he can to exactly mimic him.

I'll give him that much - he does do a great Cobain impression. But get real and try to be your own band instead of copying another one. And by the way, the lyrics to this song are retarded.

i think that seether is a great band.
and if you listen to it, it could sound a bit like nirvana, but i still think seether rock there my all time fav and want to see them live.

:D

seether is really awesome
xxoo
me and sam both agree

agreed | Reviewer: Nick | 12/15/07

i agree that seether is taking up nirvana's torch, although i personally believe that cobain should have stuck with writing the songs rather than singing them as well.
I never truly realized how awesome seether was till i saw them at pointfest with three days grace and Breaking Benjamin. For the lead singer to also be the only guitarist, and make the song sound good, that takes incredible talent.

Cobain's Legacy | Reviewer: Greywolf | 12/3/07

Awesome song worthy of Kurt Cobain. If you hide the video and just listen to the first few passes played and sang by Seether, you kind of believe that it's Nirvana. :D

Nirvana is the best grunge group that will ever be, but with Remedy, Seether is taking up the torch Kurt Cobain left lying there and carries it high up in pride I believe.

I don't know where they got the idea for Remedy, if it was Amy Lee, or someone else or something they saw or heard, but thanks Gaia for letting them having that idea. :)

Thumbs up!
