Release Me Lyrics - Lucky Dube
Review The Song (25)
You don' t have to come with me
Down this road
'Cause I know my way around here
Very well
It may not seem like it
From where you stand
But believe you me, I know what
I' m talking about
Letting it all go
Didn' t matter to me
'Cause I' ve done it all before
But when you left
Part of me left with you
That is why I call you now
On this phone
So please, oh please
Don' t hang up on me
Chorus:
Release me let me go (x 3)
But remember that
Some bridges never burn
You took your way
And I took mine
We were sure our ways
Will never meet again
Everytime I go out
With another man
I find myself calling your name
Now I know that it' s true
What they say
Sometimes love
Never knows when to die
When you went
Part of me went with you
That' s why I called you on the phone
Chorus:
Release me let me go
Remember that
Some bridges never burn
Oh-ho-oh-ho...ho
Oh-ho-oh-ho...ho
Down this road
'Cause I know my way around here
Very well
It may not seem like it
From where you stand
But believe you me, I know what
I' m talking about
Letting it all go
Didn' t matter to me
'Cause I' ve done it all before
But when you left
Part of me left with you
That is why I call you now
On this phone
So please, oh please
Don' t hang up on me
Chorus:
Release me let me go (x 3)
But remember that
Some bridges never burn
You took your way
And I took mine
We were sure our ways
Will never meet again
Everytime I go out
With another man
I find myself calling your name
Now I know that it' s true
What they say
Sometimes love
Never knows when to die
When you went
Part of me went with you
That' s why I called you on the phone
Chorus:
Release me let me go
Remember that
Some bridges never burn
Oh-ho-oh-ho...ho
Oh-ho-oh-ho...ho

You cannot imagine how much this man misses me so much. He was the man I was loving in my life but God decided in another way allowing his death. We can just pray for his soul.
Thank you very much for all

By the way the guys who killed lucky did bad to me. i'd liked him when i was two years old, i just wanted to see him perform in kenya unfortunatly those guys killed him. His music will ever live to sing and ring in my broken heart forever and ever. He was a true rastafarian. How can i forget him even if i loose my memory.Jah rest his soul in eternal peace. some bridges never burn realy.

The first time I heard this song was when I was a little girl, I can remember my dad playing it over and over again and as I grew up I continued to play it over and over again along with Lucky Dube's other primo songs. Lucky Dube's songs always bring tears and emotions to me when I sing them. This song will always be a favourite!!

I still love lucky dube songs and music from day one I first heard of his music and lyrics of his songs.Drive me crazy during my high school days that my friends would called me names like Rastafara,RASTAMAN etc..I even spent extra hours in the school library or the public libraries in our town doing research about rastafara, apartheid and black movement.when I left school in 2000, that was when trouble almost torn apart the peace and unification of my beloved country in the isles of the sea(solomon islands).I am sadden of the sudden death of my musical icon and hero who was not afraid to speak out his mind of situations and other unjust treatments of non superior races in the past by the blessed white race on this same shared universe.I had to grow a dread lock on my head as a custom to show my sadness for death. It's really true that not every blackman is my brother, not every whiteman is an enemy. So to those who took the life of lucky ,shall you realise repent or got to reap what you sow.from black melanesian_happy isles.

Eveytime listening to these song it reminds me of my school time boyfriend we had so much to share but things did'nt go our way, though we have moved on successfully bt still communicate a lot especially when hearing the song no matter where or the situation. He named his younger girl after me and I did de same with my 2nd son 4mnth old now. I cry everytime listening to it I believe part of me left with him. Am I or both of us out of our minds?somebody tell me plsssssssss.

When i heard that song the first time it crushed me 2 peices. I listened 2 it all day and night, i really could not understand why such an artist had 2 die that way. We really can't leave with these shootings that affect the life's of our people it's a disgrace 2 society.
