Recess Lyrics - Muse

Review The Song (2)

Resuscitate
In my sleep
Awake to see
You're never here

And the losing yields
Another year
Facing hopes and fears

And I wish
I could believe there was more
Hopes suffocating
You've missed my life

And the planes and trains
Are to blame
For tempting us
To refrain
And to cut the chord
sponsored links
Dis every word
Of the truths absurd

And I wish
I could believe there was more
Hopes suffocating
You've kissed my life

(I wish I could believe there was more)
Hopes suffocating
Hopes suffocating
Hopes suffocating
And you've missed my life

Song meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/23/10

Well, I think this song is about (whoever the song is about) considering suicide. (s)he is thinking "life is purpouseless, and if i'm only gonna suffer, why should I even try?" then(s)he thinks "but what if life does have more meaning to it then to live and die. How much may I miss out on?"

underrated and beautiful | Reviewer: Kira | 8/8/07

One of the more underrated Muse songs, but still beautiful and amazing as the rest.
It has a great guitar solo in it, not to mention falsetto vocals.
I wish they played this live more often. The only live version of this I can think of is MCM cafe in '99. Their performance of it, by the way, was tons better than the studio recording, which is still great!
Gotta love Muse-ic.
