Dimmu Borgir Puritania Lyrics

Last updated: 09/29/2014 06:38:25 AM

We do away with your kind
Countdown to exterminate the human race
4, 3, 2, 1

Let chaos entwine
On defenseless soil
Remove errors of man
And sweep all the weakening kind

I am war, I am pain
I am all you've ever slain
I am tears in your eyes
I am grief, I am lies

Bygone are tolerance
And presence of grace
Scavengers are sent out
To cleanse the human filth parades

I am pure, I am true
I am all over you
I am laugh, I am smile
I am the Earth defiled

I am the cosmic storms
I am the tiny worms
I am fear in the night
I am bringer of blight

Earth successfully erased

The actual music | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/12/14

Sometimes, I don't really care what the lyrics actually mean, and I don't want to care.
This is one of those times. The music in the song sounds good, I can headbang to it, I can enjoy it.
If the rest of you weren't stuck debating wars and politics and all that, you would probably have enjoyed the song, too.

Tards | Reviewer: Aelfgar | 1/8/13

Black Metal is a symptom of the diminished state of the white race. To all you retards claiming wars are over ideologies get real, most wars are fought over territory and resources.

Where it all started going wrong... | Reviewer: Shahir | 10/27/12

Well it's rather odd coming to a lyrics site where one song has 133 comments and the song below it is unknown.
Okay guys, what the hell happened here? Huh? Did you wanna sound nu-metal while still wearing corpse paint? How on earth is this song so goddamned popular?
After being blown away by Spiritual Black Dimensions, I thought there would be something just as good, if not better on this album. Then I heard Puritania. It would be disgraceful to the genre if Dimmu wants to continue calling themselves a black metal band.
At least Death Cult Armageddon didn't have something as processed and awful as this...

What does religion have to do with black metal? | Reviewer: doesnt matter | 4/8/12

I'm an Agnostic-theist. I cannot believe in something that is not recognized by science. However, There is a lot unknown to science even by today's standards. The real meaning of Black Metal is the condition of the Human race. As proven by other reviewers, the Human race, (generally speaking) is ignorant and self absorbed. People for thousands of years have killed people and destroyed their civilizations based on their belief structures: I.E. Christianity, Aryan ideologies, ect. To say that Black Metal is evil and wrong because bands that play them hate Christians and Christians only is Absurd. The main view of Satanist's are no different than other world religions, they worship deities, perform church like acts and conger in mass like any other religion in the world. Black Metal is mainly about disdain for the condition of the world, Genocides, atrocities, poverty, ect. Anything "evil" or "hateful" twords our civilizations. In any case they same people who Hate black metal because of the lyrical content are the same people the songs are about. if you don't them deal with it. No one is forcing you to listen to the music. You cannot censor art and most importantly you cannot censor religion.
Fuck you all,

Fruits | Reviewer: Really? | 3/25/12

You do know that fruits have been dramatically genetically enhanced by humans through agriculture for decades, right? Want proof of god? Go type on Google "wild banana" and see if you'll eat one of your god's original creation.

Or you could also read about the human eyes defects...
Or about how we humans only have one tube to eat and breath, which causes hundreds of deaths a year.
Or about that virus that can shutdown your entire immune system.
Or about the inefficiency of how the brains stores memories.

The world makes much more sense as a product of gradual evolution than as a design from a "all-knowing, all powerful" god.

Oh come on | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/4/11

I can't believe there is even a discussion on this topic. Great band & great music. Period.
Oh on the side, proof that God exists: Peel an orange, inside it is sweet and pre-sliced in nice morsels. That goes a bit too far to be just random evolution :)
No offense, just my personal P.O.V.

fuck u atheist idiots | Reviewer: solomon | 4/20/11

i am a christian, i love black metal. I just enjoy the music and noting else. Metal bands sings about saitanism and make money. You people believe those crap and spoile your life. Open your eyes. Just enjoy metal. Dont let it get in to your life.
There is noting satanic about this song. It is about apocalypse.

Music isn't evil | Reviewer: nick divine | 3/17/11

Ok i am a Christian but this band is not bad, I've listened to them, and for the most part they are right, I see corruption in humanity thanks to this band and how other religious fanatics judge people and push views on others, I was at a church where they were screaming like madmen, and i left cause it sucked, that is not the way i praise my creator, it reminded me of spiritual retardation. add me on if you would like to talk about the true nature of god rather than some organized religious bullshit. cause thats what it is.

@anne | Reviewer: thomas | 2/22/11

its black metal...that doesnt make it satanic per just makes it metal is technically a umbrella term for satanic pagan viking and death has just become associated with satanistic music because of kids that go out and try to kill people of the church for believing in their ''god'' and when they get busted and their homes or appartments get searched and they find ''satanic imagery''(i.e. pentagrams goat heads and things of that nature) around the place people automatically assume it to mean strictly satanic music...the first black metal i ever heard was amon amarth which just in case you dont know is one of the worlds most famous and successful viking metal far as i can tell with this song...its just promoting the chaos in the world and how it has grown over the centuries...but thats just me...base how you take it on your opinions...but there you go...just because its a ''satanic'' band doesnt mean every song has to follow that subject matter...and i know i have been rambling...but i hope my explanation helped you

are you kidding | Reviewer: anne | 1/6/11

are you kidding "gods child" how the hell is this satanic the first time I herd this song it reminded me of doctor who and the garlics <= wrong spelling I think I have no idea who would think this song is satanic
And for the religion thing I am happily an atheist but I've knowledge on christianity, buddhism, wicca and musilm religion and I think its preposterous that you would say that we will burn in hell if we don't believe in god does it not state in the bible if we admit our sins we will be welcome into "heaven" in my view its all just a comfort thing that there is an after once we die I live my life the way I want not the way some people portrayed it thousands of years ago when they didn't even have the stuff we have now
Stop living in the medieval ages everyone is entitled to their religion and if you don't like this type of music why are you even on the page for it ?

Love the song its epic
from the awesomeness of anne he he he

god... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/12/10

@ converter... your problem is that you think of "god" as someone or something that tells the truth and/or cares about you. i will lie to you and i don't care about you. i might even break my promise to you. does that mean that i don't exist?

great song | Reviewer: beard112:) | 10/17/10

Untrue | Reviewer: Converter | 9/22/10

There is no God. Plain and simple. Don't hate me for saying it, but its true. If anyone, and i mean ANYONE, can prove that there is a God, with solid, concrete, undeniable proof, i will be the first to admit i was wrong. But, come on people. How can there be one? All christians, or any other religion, has as proof that their "Gods" are real are ancient texts that have almost no sense written in them. If God is truly omnipotent and all loving, he would not let these disasters continue. Or would he? Not according to your bible. God has fulfilled none of his promises and those who think he has have to learn of a little thing called coincidence. In fact, the only reason religion was made was to explain all the things that can be explained by science today. The other reason is to unify people to a common beleif to keep them in check and under control. In fact, christianity was created by Constantine solely to keep the roman empire from disbanding! Look it up! I was raised a catholic, and i tried to believe. But God never seemed to have the time to pay attention to me. So now i return the favor. I want someone to come up and really PROVE me wrong when i say there is no God.

PEOPLE, GET OVER IT!!! | Reviewer: Darien | 7/23/10

Dimmu Borgir is an awesome fucking band. NOTE TO CHRISTIANS: if ur just gonna come here running your mouth, don't waste ur damn hypocritical breath, because noone is here to give two shits about ur opinions. and others, don't let Christians get to u. they are just a sack full of flesh and ignorance, they will never open their eyes to the truth itself, just plain foolishness and psychotic fantasies. let them walk on through their path of ignorant hypocrisy because one thing is going be fallen upon them and theres nothing their "God" can do: KARMA. I am a catholic raised young girl and I see its such a sad and angering sight to see hypocrital truth twisters. Everyone, go on with their lives and favorite time passers, especially music <3, because no opinion can ever change what each of us enjoys.

Puritans | Reviewer: Sarah | 7/14/10

This refers to 16th century puritans. The evolution of a man from someone Satanic to someone who is a Puritan. No religious offense. It's just the inside out of a person. The changes we usually experience in our emotions.
