Radiohead Pull / Pulk Revolving Doors Lyrics

Last updated: 05/28/2012 11:00:00 AM

There are barn doors
And there are revolving doors

Doors on the rudders of big ships
We are revolving doors

There are doors that open by themselves
There are sliding doors
And there are secret doors

There are doors that lock
And doors that don't

There are doors that let you in
And out
But never open
But they are trapdoors
That you can't come back from

Life is not only about pushing or looking at mirages. Revolving doors make you lost, in, out, in, out, in out, in out, inout. Lost. Revolving doors are a place where randomness and fate (or destiny) are the same one thing. If you understand that, you can get out and leave. Leave this mess, please. Make things right.

when talking of this song thom said:
Thom: "I had this thing for a while where I was falling through trapdoors all the time, into like, acid flashbacks. I'd be talking to someone and then I'd be falling through the earth, and it went on for months and months, and it was really weird. And that was all happening towards the end of OK Computer. And that was all linked in with death. Seeing people dead, like, as I'm talking to you... It's okay," he says reassuringly, looking at my shocked face. "I'm better now." the song has to do with the post-apocolyptic concept of the album. I view amnesiac as the aftermath of the warned apocolpse of idioteque, a barren wasteland with few survivors. This song is about how the people who have caused the apocolypse leaving all kinds of doors for you to go through, but none worke. All trap doors that lead to places wich you cant escape frome.

very unique and trippy | Reviewer: keyless | 1/24/10

great track from the album Amnesiac. You can barely understand the lyrics because Thom says recites them with a futeristic robot voice, really adds to the dramatic sound and spacey feel of the album as whole. My views about what the song is about are that in life you face many doors that take you good and bad places, some that lead you to places you have already been, others that never open no matter how hard you try, but its up to you to make the choice or fall into one of the trapdoors that where on one can get out that he mentions at the end of the song.
