Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr - Trivium
This face, and the lips, tremble, as it rips
Your breath quickening as heat rushes on
[Chorus]
Pull, Harder, Strings, Martyr
Stop you crying that's a lie
Flush gasping white reddening
You smile you destroy it
It's time that we end this
It's a curse that makes this world so hopeless
Allowing our king to spread his genocidal wings
Clawing the skin each kill your weakness
Annihilation your masturbation
Tyrant, I'll burn you down
[Chorus]
Pull, Harder, Strings, Martyr
Stop you crying that's a lie
Flies gasping white red eye
you smile you destroy it
It's time that we end this
It's a curse that makes this world so hopeless
Allowing our king to spread his genocidal wings
It's a curse that makes this world so hopeless
Allowing our king to spread his genocidal wings
My hands grip your throat I need your end
Burned, Staked, ripped apart - I avenge
For every life you have taken
I am here to repay
You ask me "oh god why?"
'cause i'm god fucking why
For every life you've taken
I am here to repay
[solo]
[Chorus]
Pull, Harder, Strings, Martyr
Stop you crying that's a lie
Flies gasping white red eye
you smile you destroy it
It's time that we end this
It's a curse that make this world so hopeless
Allowing our king to spread his genocidal wings
It's a curse that make this world so hopeless
Allowing our king to spread his genocidal wings

Review about Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr austin, you're almost right. | Reviewer: jeremy | 10/6/09
if a band labels THEMSELVES as satanic, then someone calls them satanic they'd be right, however since Trivium are NOT satanic by self labeling, or lyrically at all, those people who call them as such are wrong.

Acually, your all wrong. Well not all of you, but there is no such thing as a satanic band.. being that all of reality is just a huge realm of perception.Life is what you receive it as or input it to be.So if some of you input it to be satanic.. cool congratulations, your wrong. and for those whom think its not-satanic congratulations, your wrong. because there is no right or wrong in a persons perception of reality. the beauty of opinions people. good night
With the whole fuckin thing about Satan bands... | Reviewer: Your Deth | 8/25/09
Wat is with every god damn Metal band now being called a Pro-Satan band. i mean there this song is cleary about dictators or possibly in the era where kings and clergy ruled and had mass people slaughter. its stupid how people think normal bands are demonic musicians breed from some goat looking monster its fuckin dumb. and to the fuckin idiot who thought the name "Trivium" was a evil organization a "Trivium" is a type or puzzle like the word Triva u dumb MotherFukcer. If you all want a good Pro-Satan band listen to Dimmu Borgir stop buggin out bout Trivium
The Song is also very kick ass it has a cool Chorus and killer drums in the beginning one of my favs.
MEANING OF THE LYRICS | Reviewer: R3gulator7 | 7/23/09
all reviewers,
you must understand that conversations about whether a band is satanic or the lyrics are satanic or anti-Christian, happens all the time to metal bands (and their lyrics). both sides just become fan-boys, except the few who respect each others opinions and are civil about it.
I am also Christian, and I listen to metal a lot. I enjoy it, but I don't always have to agree with it. In some cases, I do.. (AILD, August Burns Red, etc.) regardless,
Trivium is a very talented band, and I've read up on a lot of lyrics, and this just isn't satanic. It points in a more sotry-telling direction..I could see this song as either a metaphor for Hitler or so, or a story of an old king.
Regardless, stop your bickering, enjoy the music, and agree or disagree on your own terms.
Great song and great lyrics. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/19/09
These lyrics are not satanic at all...they are about dictators abusing their power and using mindless soldiers (martyrs) to do their bidding. Awesome solo, catchy chorus, and all around great song.
Newsflash to morons | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/3/09
People who are anti-theist are not satanic. If we believed in Satan we would be committing the same mentally retarded act of faith as christianity does with its beliefs. There's a lot of people who consider satanism a metaphor for the rebellious spirit that opposes the concept of christianity's evil god. Not a literal idol. Not a being to be worshipped. We do not believe in putting faith in the existence of the unknowable, we do not believe in worship.
For all you christians who think metal is "satanic". Get a fucking clue. Satan doesn't exist as anything more than the symbol of your pathetic and cowardly fears and your failure to understand the ludicrous illogical ideas and contradictions within your belief system.
Trivium blows | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/29/09
Trivium is so clearly a satanic group. You can obviously tell by these lyrics and also the name of the band. Trivium was infact a satanic organization in the 1800s who would burn children as offering up the Satan himself. Peace bitches
ummm.. | Reviewer: norma(: | 6/16/09
okk i just wantedto look at the lyrics and listen to the song and i notice yall are arguing... wow. all im gonna say is i love this song and the band. fuck everything else. im not gonna fight with people i dnt know over the computer.. I LOVE TRIVIUM!!
I love Trivium. But listen, they have some of the dumbest lyrics, and for you guys to be sitting here arguing about them is preposterous. Just listen to "Insurrection" and you'll see what I mean. Insanely good music, retarded ass lyrics. Once again, I love Trivium, have every CD, and even learned a couple of the songs on guitar myself.
