He was in Shreveport, La. in the '50's and the 4B's were his backups. Carl played at the Hayride - a show started by KWKH - and the springboard for some of the best known artists in country music, rockabilly, etc. I was a disc jockey at the time. I've always loved Pretty Brown Eyes because it reminds me of a sweetheart of that era. Jim Reeves did an excellent cover. Stop the World and Let Me Off and Am I That Easy To Forget are probably my most favorite of his songs. Is this review helpful to you?
