But for those of you who ONLY listen to the Prayer of the Refugee ONLY when you're playing it on Guitar Hero, go broaden your horizons. Rise Against is an amazing band, even their early, less polished stuff. It is so sad that children are forced to work in unfair conditions for unfair wages, and that they are the main source of drug trafficking in countries such as Colombia, the main exporter of cocaine and heroine. But we live in a supply-demand economy. And as long as there is a demand, there will always be a need to produce it-and this duty sadly falls on children. So what's being done? Bush attempted to pass laws banning the import of child-made goods. Thanks Bush, you just starved millions of children working for those wages to feed themselves and their families and had another couple million shot to death by paramilitary for refusing to traffic drugs. Only money aid would help allowing the children to escape, and a little more than the $2 million we currently offered in comparison to the $200 billion spent on the Iraq war is necessary. I love this song for revealing a problem we largely ignore. It has been stuck in my head ever since ive heard it. Your Prayers Have Been answered!! | Reviewer: kar105s | 5/1/2008 Prayer Of the Refugee is another smash hit in my personal opinion by Rise Against. The Punk/Hardcore melodic band from Chicago Stands strong against the injustices of our society, and the unfairness of our Government. Though repetetive at points, it is still a great listen. I have owned their albulm The Sufferer & the witness since its debut in 2006 and still today in 2008 cannot stop listening and loving this song. I give this song a 9 out of ten.
