Make up your mind
Decide to walk with me
Around the lake tonight
Around the lake tonight
By my side
By my side
I'm not gonna lie
I'll not be a gentleman
Behind the boathouse
I'll show you my dark secret
I'm not gonna lie
I want you for mine
My blushing bride
My lover, be my lover, yeah...
Don't be afraid
I didn't mean to scare you
So help me, Jesus
I can promise you
You'll stay as beautiful
With dark hair
And soft skin...forever
Forever
Make up your mind
Make up your mind
And I'll promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus
(hey, hey, hey)
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
So help me!
Be my angel
Be my angel
Be my angel
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Do you wanna die?
Well I promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus

Review about Possum Kingdom Yall are all wrong. | Reviewer: wendy | 9/1/09
The song is just a song. About a guy wanting a girl. I am from PK lake in texas. There are no stories of murders. Or vampires. No rapes. Nothing. Its just a damn song. PPl are so stupid to get vampires or murders out of the song. Just enjoy the song and quit trying to make up stories of it. The toadies have a place out here. And thats why its called Possum Kingdom. Becuz they wrote it here. Duh.
If you dont believe me call them yourself and ask. I have the number.

Wrong, this song isn't about a "single rape."
Quote from Toadies guitarist Todd Lewis: "It's just a story I heard long ago; it's just a really cool, eerie lake, and some stuff I heard and some stuff I just make up. I tend to do that," Lewis explains about the watering hole where his family used to hang out and barbecue. "They dammed up this big river up there, and it's got all these spooky names like Hell's Gate. It's really cool."
I grew up in Ft. Worth and happen to know that this song is about a single rape. It's just a well written, dark song. To my knowledge, it's just fantasy about a camp counselor and his accidental victim. Vampires?? Really...There are a lot of stories out there about murders or bodies dumped in Possum Kingdom Lake. My brother has worked for the Palo Pinto county sheriff's dept for years. Those stories are false. Occasionally a body is recovered from the lake..cause of death, drowning. Please stop with all of the stories about murders, serial rapists, and the undead. Thanks.
I'm sad | Reviewer: Kade | 4/8/09
I'm not gonna lie i totally love this song and I absolutly hope it is not about some douchebag who rapes girls behind this so called "boathouse"...I mean honestly if this was a known thing, meaning it has happened more than once, so much so that these guys wrote a song about it. I'd really hope that they caught the guy. Never the less yes the dude who said it gives him a boner is clearly strange, but I love this song and prefer to think it is about vampires, or at least darkness not involving rape and murder. Vampires are so much more attractive than some ass taking what he can't get.
vampires? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/5/09
The song is not about vampires and to the "boner dude"...it shouldn't get you excited...its actually kind of creepy that you would think that.
The other people who posted that this song is about Possum Kingdom Lake/rape are correct. It's an awesome song, one of my favorites...but it is very dark and disturbing. There are a lot of videos out there that have nothing to do with the song that is playing. Maybe they had a hard time projecting the actual story of the song into a video...maybe they thought it would be too offensive or politically incorrect...who knows...the song isn't about vampires...but every person is entitled to their own opinion.

Only a couple of you know what this song is about. A serial killer/rapist would bring girls to a lake near Dallas called possum kingdom lake. He would take a walk with them an rape them behind the boathouse that they talk about in the song. It's a really demented song but it's well written. I like it
Its about the typical texan neocon | Reviewer: Fr33d0m | 12/23/08
This song is about a Bush style neocons who gets everything he wants and kills anyone who does not provide it. Its about the typical Texan republican a-hole who will steal what he cant get, and ruin everything he touches. He is so spoiled that any denying of his appetites drives him to murder. Its about your typical

This song is so disturbing, I love it. The beat just really gets me going... I especially love the part where it's leading up to "Do you wanna die?" So great. I use this for inspiration when I want to write something reallyyyyyyyyy really dark. :)
The song WAS about a murdure that happened at a lake called Possum kingdom were the toadues lived, but I always wonder, why are they called "The Toadies"?
That guy was right! | Reviewer: No one knows | 7/21/07
The guy that said its about a vampire man (with a long cool silver gun!) is asking if she wants to become a va,pire and be his angel aka his lover and when he sais 'Do you wanna die?' he means 'Do you wanna be a vampire like me?'
I go to youtube every day just to watch and listen to that video, and at the end of the video the vampire man suck the blood from her neck, the myth of the way humans are made into vampires. That guy I was talking about WAS right!
