Plug in Baby Lyrics - Muse

Review The Song (30)

I've exposed your lies, baby
The underneath's no big surprise
And now it's time
For changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
Woah, my plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living
Oooh...

Don't confuse
Baby you're gonna lose
Your own game

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
Woah, my plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living
Oooh...

And I've seen your loving
And mine is gone
And I've been in trouble
Woaaah...

the truth | Reviewer: John Doe | 6/30/12

The song is about his electric guitar and how its got him through hard times, Matthew Bellamy stated this years ago, he does have political touches in his songs but if pay attention to what songs your'll know

My thoughts about this. | Reviewer: Sara | 8/3/11

This song reminds me of when I broke up with my ex. For me it's anger and a little bit of hidden sorrow. A broken relationship, when the one you used to love lied and treated you bad behind your back, and in the end of the relationship you'll start to find out. And it's time for changing, and cleansing everything, to forget the love and go on, but it's hard, so you're tired of life. That's what the song means to me. I believe that the great thing with music is that anybody can relate a song to just what they want to relate to.

Song Interpretation Fail | Reviewer: Dawn | 6/8/11

It was Dom who said it was about genetically engineered puppies... and it was A JOKE! Matt has said before that he doesn't always know what his songs are about. If you find the interview you would know.

no no no | Reviewer: Smarty | 9/4/10

Actually MUSE stated in an interview that this song was about genetically engineered dogs that stay puppies forever. I don't really see that in the lyrics but that's what they said. I think it's more important to understand the intent of those who wrote it rather that making up your own meaning. That is giving the song something that was "Unintended" (haha MUSE joke)... unless Bellamy intended to produce multiple meanings.

amazing song, love muse ! | Reviewer: emma | 7/23/10

i think you guys are forgetting something important about music, and art in general... It's all up to how one person interpretes something , therefore there can be many correct ways that people look at this song. Yes you may think the song means different things but that doesn't mean only one interpretation is correct.

what???? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/27/10

I agree with the guys who say its "a ruined relationship that he tries to forget...and his guitar as the only scape" come on guys have you ever heard of "occams razor"? the arguments to make it a political song suck

The real meaning | Reviewer: Jeff | 6/25/10

It's obviously sung from the point of view of a girlfriend whose relationships haven't worked out. She uses her "plug-in baby" (i.e. dildo) to make her forget about everything bad, and says a big FU to her enemies (exes) because she doesn't need them to get off.

Honestly people? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/13/10

No one should be fighting about weather this song is about politics or not. It's a great song and we should enjoy it for what it is. So you don't need to go around calling people morons and whatnot. It's just a waste of time. People are allowed to have different views on this song. I'm not going to tell you what I think it's about because I have a feeling I'm going to get shot down.

On another note, I love this song, great addition to my music library! Top played on my iPod! (Shrinking Universe is a close second.)

You would have to be an idiot to think it's about politics, really...
Unless Matt was inlove with a politic then these lyrics really don't make sense do they;
"I've exposed your lies, baby
The underneath's no big surprise
And now it's time
For changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love"
This song is clearly about a broken relationship and the means that Matt uses to stop thinking about it. He uses his guitar to "crucify" anyone.
" I have no faith in the next generation for interpreting this clearly political song as a "love song". "
You are a massive idiot.. People like you just piss me off.

Yeah, no, this song isn't about love. | Reviewer: CultState.com | 4/28/10

This song is about political manipulation.

"My plug-in baby crucifies my enemies when I'm tired of giving"

Clearly, he is referring to a politician's abilities to flip a switch in the media and turn a person into a frothing child to go after whatever cause they are directed towards, regardless of reason or logic. Total emotional drunkenness.

"My plug-in baby in unbroken virgin realities
is tired of living"

Clearly, he is talking about the Middle Class Westerner, full of their own consumer illusion. ("An unbroken virgin reality") The only reason such people can be turned into frothing children is because their lives are without threat and, therefore, violence is exotic to them.

I have no faith in the next generation for interpreting this clearly political song as a "love song".

Don't over think it | Reviewer: brandon | 4/27/10

You can guess around the intended meaning of this song all day. This song means alot to me yeah, but its more important to just lose yourself in the song and feel it. Im just learning it, but i got the opening riff down and that riff is the best part. Im better at knights of cydonnia, but i like playin this song more. For me its like you live day in day out tryin to be the 'nice guy' and you feel like screamin your heart out after so much rejection, but playin the song keeps those last seems holdin you together from snapping. So i play along with the song and it gets me through those times without coming undone. If i could sing this song, damn it i would. Ne way its a great song and there are some really strong emotions behind it and in my opinion thats what makes songs great.

Outstanding | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/23/10

This song is possible Muse's greatest song. The vocals are absolutely amazing in this song and that intro riff is pretty damn cool it all flows really well.
I am very proud to say that I play guitar and can play this song fully :)

unbelievable song | Reviewer: morgan.briggs@ntlworld.com | 2/15/10

i never known this song is full of guitar riffs and fast-paced beats, and Matt's singing. It's totally a piece of art. I've only got into muse now but i love their songs. I listen to these songs all the time. Plug in baby is one of their top songs.

Museis a .. muse | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/5/09

plug in | Reviewer: narkas | 8/13/09

this song is real open to interpretation though i like when artists allow the perverted listener to go nuts. (plug in baby ...virgin) yeh well not that i'm a perv but if u look at it from the right angle its like the perfect description of a relationship. and he portrays the girl who betrays him as a disconected guitar he even looks at his guitar in disapointment in the video. but wat i loved most was his stance at the end it was sick
