Pink Cigarette Lyrics

Review The Song (7)Print the Lyrics
Hush me, touch me
Perfume, the wind and the leaves
Hush me, touch me
The burns, the holes in the sheets

I'm hoping the smoke
Hides the shame I've got on my face
Cognac and broken glass
All these years I've been your ashtray

Not today

I found a pink cigarette
On the bed the day that you left
And how can I forget that your lips were there
Your kiss goes everywhere, touches everything But me

Hush me, touch me
Champagne, your hair in the breeze
Hush me, touch me
Lipstick, a slap on my cheek

Your eyes cried at last
Told me everything I was afraid to ask
Now I'm dressed in white
And you've burned me for the last time

This ain't the last time

I found a pink cigarette
On the bed the day that you left
And how can I forget that your lips were there
Your kiss goes everywhere, touches everything But me

You'll find a note and you'll see my silhouette...

There's just 5 hours left until you find me dead
There's just 4 hours left until you find me dead
There's just 3 hours left until you find me dead
There's just 2 hours left until you find me dead
There's 1 more hour and then you will find me dead
There's just.....................

Pink Cigarette | Reviewer: Vladdie | 4/5/09

Well we used Pink Cigarette for our first dance. When we got married October 30, 2004. Both my husband and I are huge fans. Was a perfect beginning to our married life. Pretty much sums it all up!

wot can i say?? this surely has to be my favourite album ever, California. I'm an avid death metal fan but nothing compares to the sheer beauty and originality of this record, and Mike Patton?? i swear if i was gay...
anyhu this song is almost like a part of my anatomy it means alot tbh. But as for the rest of the album? Sweet charity, the chorus is as addictive as a very addictive thing, None Of Them Knew They Were Robots, Goodbye Sober Day, Golem II: the Bionic Vapour Boy scream out classic Bungle oddity, whereas the likes of Retrovertigo and Vanity Fair surely must contain some of Mike Patton's finest vocals i have ever heard! And then the calm, mesmerising lilt of the holy filament is the perfect relaxant after hearing some of Bungle's more weird offerings, and then Ars Moriendi just kinda kicks the shit out of u with a strange amalgamation of Greek ceremonial music with grinding speed/thrash metal. And the Air Conditioned Nightmare?? i cannot get enough of that song!! All in all it is definitely an amazing album, not summit u'd get bored of after a few weeks, but summit that stays in ur heart for an eternity...

It somehow reminds me to a Lynchian atmosphere... some kind of lost highway related drama. I LOVE IT! I can´´t stop thinking about Naomi Watts or Laua Dern just standing there, maybe affraid, maybe just being serious. Ok, too much fantasizing... GREAT SONG.

It is no secret that Mike has an amazing musical talent.I am a huge Faith No More fan, and my hunger for more led me to California (Mr. Bungle). Funny how it attaches itself to you....Then "from out of nowhere" Pink Cigarette! A song that paint such a sad and dreary picture, so descriptive, yet seamless, you see this guy.....ruined with pain, in a room that almost looks like a crime scene....a smashed glass and booze on his breath. Somehow all people that has loved and lost can identify with this man,and it drowns your heart.I imagine smoke hovering in the air, tie around the neck, but far from a neat knot.....amazing amazing!

this whole album screams "california". the beach boy type harmonies on some songs are amazing. When this album came out I was doing an internship in San Fran and this ended up being my personal soundtrack that summer. And seeing them live in San Fran when it came out was AMAZING!!! Mike Patton can do no wrong. His voice is the ultimate sexy and more moving than any other in my life. through Faith No More, or solo stuff or Bungle he always brings me back, then forward, to different places in my life. This album will stick with me forever (and his many others).

well as any song's lyrics, I think it is subject to an individual listener's interpretation. I find this song to have a powerful meaning and its overall mellow and dramatic sound musically is brilliant. the music itself is a masterpiece, and lyrically...you can gather alot from it. not only is it forward in meaning but it can also have subliminal meaning which is subject to interpretation, as I said. it is a moving song and with Mike Patton singing, the song just comes to life. Mike and the other musicians of Mr.Bungle are musical genius' and were very under rated for their accomplishments. I personally enjoy the mellow verse transending to a dramatic chorus and Mike has always demonstrated his superb ability to build up a suspence and shock you with an extreme high or an extreme low. another thing that I enjoy is their attention to detail, they just knew how to write good music. Pink Cigarette is a good example of the mellow happiness sound yet lyrically it is depressing and morbid and that is what makes this song as good as it is, that very contrast.

OK, doing this on a whim, pretty drunk, hehe. My first review here. Have the California album since it came out, and liked it from the beginning. Was in the player for a week or two. Then a year later, put it on again, stayed longer. 2 years later, longer still.... Now I put it in the player in April, now it's August, and it hasn't left. I guess it is simply one of the best albums ever. And Pink Cigarette... Sorry, I just wish I had the words to describe what that song means to me. Feels like a slice of my brain, my heart, my soul lies in the tray of the CD player when I listen to it. But maybe that is the point about music that touches You that hard, that deep, that You can't describe it. Maybe it's not meant to describe. And why would one read a review of a song they can listen to, anyway? I will do now. First Sweet Charity, then Retrovertigo, then Pink Cigarette, then the whole album, then Pink Cigarette til either wine's empty or sun is up. Like yesterday. And the day before...
