Orphaned Land was formed in 1991 under the name "Resurrection" and in 1992 was changed to it's current name. During the years 1992 - 1993 the band has performed with some important artists, among them were Cathedral and Tiamat. In 1993 the band recorded it's first release, "The Beloved's Cry" demo, that gained extreme success worldwide. In a short time period 1,500 copies of this debut were quickly sold out (no trades), and in 1999 the Greek Magazine "Metal Invader" re-issued this release on CD in close to 15,000 copies! After the huge success of their demo, the band was signed by French label "Holy Records" for two albums. First album, "Sahara", was issued in 1994. The second title "El Norra Alila" was issued in 1996. Both albums achieved great responses and More...
