It's a haunting melody, a classic. It's so sad he died so young. I was never a big fan of "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, or "You Don't Mess around with Jim", but I can never get tired of hearing this song, and "I Have to Say I Love You In A Song" and of course, "Time In A Bottle" truth | Reviewer: matt | 1/17/08 The saddest thing is this is a true story. He came back from the army and his woman left him for his best friend. The man was only 30 when he died, and yet his life was still full of the pain that an 80 year old man feels through his years.
