On The Loose Lyrics - Saga

Review The Song (7)

One day you feel quite stable
The next you're comin' off the wall
But I think that you should warn me
If you start heading for a fall

I see the problem start
I watch the tension grow
I see you keeping it to yourself

And then instead of reaching conclusions
I see you reaching for something else

No one can stop you now
Tonight you're on the loose
No one to tell you how
Tonight you're on the loose
No one can stop you now
Tonight you're on the loose
No one to tell you how

Tonight you're on the loose

I see no harm or danger in escaping
If the method suits the style
We put the mind on idle
And let the others take it for awhile

When the pace is too fast
And I think I won't last
You know where I'll be found

I'll be standing here beside myself
Getting ready for the final round

No one can stop me now
Tonight I'm on the loose
No one to tell me how
Tonight I'm on the loose
No one can stop me now
Tonight I'm on the loose
No one to tell me how
Tonight I'm on the loose

The time we feel most stable
Is the time we're comin' off the wall
And there's every indication
We may be heading for a fall

So let the problems start
And let the tension grow
We'll be keeping it to ourselves

And while they're busy reaching their conclusions
We'll be reaching for something else

No one can stop us now
Tonight we're on the loose
No one to tell us how
Tonight we're on the loose
No one can stop us now
Tonight we're on the loose
No one to tell us how
Tonight we're on the loose

BETTER THAN MAIN ACT BILLY SQUIRE | Reviewer: 80'S TEEN | 9/26/13

I saw this group in Texas in 80 something when they opened up for Billy Squire. As we were waiting for the door's to open you could hear the sound check and you could hear the cord's to this song and everyone outside went crazy. After the show everyone including myself left the venue feeling that SAGA should had been the main draw as they put on better perfomance. Now don't get me wrong Billy Squire was good too. Overall one of the better show's I ever attended and will alway's remember. This song & Wind Him Up on the playlist for now.

almost like syncopated Jazz | Reviewer: L Marie | 6/27/12

I remember this song while growing up in Southern California. One of the stations from L.A. area started playing new and 'weird' music during the late 70's and early 80's and that is when I first heard it while I was in my late teens. At that time I was hooked on the British wave music coming over to this country. This song took me in for its exacting rhythm. The drum beat was amazing and the guitar and organ matching of the notes was great. I grew up listening to my brother's albums, one of which was the group, Yes, and some parts of this song reminded me of Rick Wakemen's organ style and the guitarist's style from that same group. You could understand every word sung on this song. They did a great job on this and I recently saw it again on TV. I kept thinking that these guys could write and perform jazz!

Definitely one of the missed 80's gems | Reviewer: Pisda | 4/13/12

I just recently heard this song on the radio while visiting Canada, and i was hooked on the beat instantly. I told my friend do you know who sings this beat and he said it's a band called Saga and the song is "On the Loose". How could this not be so popular back in the 80's? This was one of the greatest songs i ever heard.Great melody easy lyrics and to top it off their from Canada. Wow Canada had some great talent back then. Unfortunately songs and bands like these were overshadowed by the mass marketed and overly hyped Americans Michael Jackson and Madonna. The Brits were also very big in the 80s too, with bands like Duran Duran,Wham,Depeched Mode,Tears for Fears,Dire Straits,Police..etc.Canada had Bryan Adams but he could only make a dent in the mass marketed 80's. Great song and it will always be cool.

Gran rola! | Reviewer: PACO | 5/10/11

RECUERDO PERFECTAMENTE LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE ESCUCHE Y VI EN MTV ESTE VIDEO, SIMPLE Y SENCILLAMENTE NO PUDE DEJAR DE ESCUCHARLA. EL PROBLEMA ERA ESPERAR A QUE PROGRAMARAN LA CANCION EN DIFERENTES HORAS DEL DIA PARA UNA VEZ MÁS PODER DISFRUTARLA. EN MÉXICO, APENAS SE PODÍAN CONSEGUIR DISCOS IMPORTADOS DE ROCK, ESTAMOS HABLANDO DE PRINCIPIOS DE 1980.

Not as big In USA as in other places. | Reviewer: ScorpionPR | 9/19/09

Saga was not big in the USA and had little air play there. But in some European countries and in Puerto Rico they were really big. There is an anecdote that says that in Puerto Rico Rush was offered an oportunity to open a concert for Saga. I guees that different places have different tastes for music.

One of my all time favorites. | Reviewer: Kassady | 9/10/09

When this song came out I listened to it 30 times, trying to get myself not to like it so much.
It never worked. I still love this song! No one else seems to know it. DJ's should play it more often.

Awesome! | Reviewer: Deano | 10/10/05

This is on the best songs in the 80's era. It's too bad that they didn't have more hits than this
