Childhood Theme | Reviewer: Molly | 7/20/14

I must admit, despite how I have yet to reach the age fourteen, I have had this song memorized forwards and backwards ever since I was a child. Latin, correct Latin, English...

And I could not disagree with any of you disbelievers more.
I know people who believe in Satan more so than they do God.
Lucifer's existence was granted by God.
Lucifer had been the most enchanting Angel of all.
Lucifer had been obliviously flawed with vanity.
Lucifer was then cast out by God through Michael.

I truly believe that the Omen is more than capable of reality in the future if it has yet to have already happened in the past and is living on today. Forgive me for intruding, I just would like to state that -- whether you doubt the fact or not -- both God and Satan do exist.

AWARE OF EVIL | Reviewer: Hildebertus | 3/22/14

I REFUSE TO PLAY THIS AT HOME, MY HOME IS OPEN FOR GOD ALMIGHTY ,AND IF YOU LIKE TO GO AGAINTS STREAM IT S OK BUT TRY TO THINK IN BLACK AND WHITE OR LIVE ANDE DEATH OR LIGHT AND DARK OR GOOD AND EVIL.
EXIST OR NOT THE DEVIL, THERE WILL BE ALWAYS A SEPARATION BETWEEN ENJOY LIFE OR SUFFER HELL- AND IT IS NOT A JUST RETORIC.
SO DONT SPEAK JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL YOURE YOUNG AND REBEL, THASE ARE THE INOOCENTS VICTIMS satan WANTS .

Gos and Satan cant live without one another! | Reviewer: MeltingMind | 1/7/14

I wouldn't focus on the meaning to much. People invest entirely to much time deciding what is moral and what is distasteful. Especial with music. For me its like another form watching a horror flick. Where all horror film makers Satanist?...... most likely no. Does watching a horror film make you evil, and or satanic. No!
therefore, does listening to this song mean anything about your being. Again, no! Its just as good a song as the actual movie, satanic or not. Great delivery by Patton as always.

omen fan | Reviewer: joann Thorpe | 11/12/12

whoever you are and whatever you believe it is a fantastic song and a brilliant film. nothing rivals it in my opinion and the creepy music could not have been written any better for the film.

aargh | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/20/12

I just wish the Latin was conjugated correctly.
Satani--> Satana
Versus Christus --> Verse Christi (the evocative) ((why not antichristos? literally antichrist, which is what Damien was))
Sanguis --> Sanguinem
etc.

It's not like making these changes would drastically alter the rhyme scheme or rhythm. The choirmaster was clearly not an expert.

sweet music to my soul | Reviewer: Leonard Thomas | 1/29/11

I'm glad to finally read what they are singing as well as the translation. I'm not a satanist anymore than the average person, but i am strangely comforted by this song. I suppose it's because i've always been an outcast, ostracized, isolated and ave satani is different from the "norm", like myself. aaahhhhh....

brilliant! | Reviewer: xanderthevampire | 6/15/10

This is excellent in several ways 1st, I love pissing off the deluded, hypocritical christians of the world and now i have the perfect song to sing. (I'd love to walk around the vatican singing this) I already had it as my ringtone but i didnt know the meaning now i do, it's sooo much better. also, It's brilliant how the lyrics actually pertain to the film. Too often are we served up random tunes on horror movies which, if it werent for their use on the movies, wouldn't even be considered unhappy, in fact most seem like normal, upbeat tunes. this one actually makes sense with the movie it was used on.

The truth ab the genius | Reviewer: luuloo | 4/15/10

Jerry Goldsmith's inspiration for this was a Christian Gregorian chant used in churches before communion was taken. If you watch documentaries on the movie, he tells you that with the help of (I believe is was) a priest that was fluent in Latin, he turned it into an "Ode to Satan and his son". Brilliant for the movie, and an award well deserved for the entire score!

Satanic music is better than Christian music anyway | Reviewer: Jesus was a hippy | 9/19/09

I love this song and it has made my relationship with Satan a lot more meaningful. I especially like to sing it when I see hypocritical Christian douchebags talk about their god while completely going against the teachings of their stupid faith in the first place. If Jesus Christ came back, these dipshits would be the first to crucify him again. And that pisses me off because I think we devil-worshippers should get first crack at him.

Work of genius | Reviewer: Sly Stu | 2/28/09

Personally I think the song - regardless of it's translation - is a soundtrack masterpiece. The film is an all-time classic horror, and Jerry Goldsmith is the top dog in his field, with only the songwriting director John Carpenter in my opinion matching quality on some tracks. I don't worship Satan, but like someone else has said, it is just lyrics. :) It really set the tone of the film like few others could.

Just a great scary song | Reviewer: LieveDani | 2/25/09

well, I like the song, if you look at the meaning it isn't that well perhaps, but it won't disturb my fun singin' along with the song, it's a movie theme tho. Thanks a lot for the lyrics and translation! I already knew it a bit, but now I do fully understand and speak ^^

oh no!!! | Reviewer: kosstheory | 12/16/08

I suppose you think that "God" and the Angels are real too, huh?

Wake up people...They are words, and that's all they are, they are meaningless, unless you really mean to worship evil in general.

It's just funny to associate those lyrics with the mundane...Like humming the tune when Bush gives a speach, or manages to dodge a shoe at point blank range...

Theme song for 'The Omen' | Reviewer: S | 11/27/08

Person who posted the post before this one: This is supposed to be a theme song for 'The Omen', which is about the offspring of Satan, it doesn't mean that the members of Fantomas actually personally mean to say "Hail Satan".

I wish I knew before | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/19/08

Man, I can't believe that I liked the songs of such satanic group. Seriously, there was a song I liked and I was going to add it to my playlist to my space, but when I found out what the meaning of one of their songs was. Thank goodness I found out what this song means :( :(

i knew | Reviewer: drue'll* | 7/18/07

when i was young, in the late 80's early 90's, dad came home with these crazy horror movies and omen was one of them. this is the only movie that has given me fear. it was the music. even though i speak no latin and had no idea what was going on, the music told me that it was very evil and i did not want to mess with it. now to learn the translation confirms that jerry goldsmith's genius
